Not big surprise
Of course Putin would support Fifa, I can't imagine how much Russia probably paid in bribes to get the World Cup.
I like how in the media Putin is always portrayed as a saint while Obama is ridiculed and mocked, Cameron's another story though.

It's not like Blatter has been accused/suspected of corruption for literally several decades or anything.
Except he's probably right you know. Why would US care about Football that much, I mean it's like some European country caring about American Football that much.
Not to mention charges of few million euros in total are ridiculous considering there are literally billions flowing through Fifa.
The question is: Does the department of justice have the right to intervene in FIFA? FIFA has her own judicial system. If FBI has the right to arrest anybody in FIFA like Eugenio Figueredo who is not US citizen then any country must have the right to arrest anybody in FIFA for corruption charges. Putin is completely right about that whether you like it or not.
Or it's just a corrupt politician backing up a corrupt business they invested in.

The FBI doesn't give a shit about football, they give a shit about the hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud and money laundering
Saw a snippet of the story in the morning, it's super fucking ridiculous. According to the main channel over here, The USA went after the FIFA execs mainly because of the fact that they had chosen Russia and Qatar. Not the corruption, just that. This is why I don't watch TV.
Wow, talk about shameless total spinning.
This only makes FIFA look more corrupt.
If I was the president of FIFA i'd be saying wtf are you doing russia? don't back us, we already look corrupt as fuck.
Putin backs Sepp Blatter, not really too unexpected. Over here a lot of the British political establishment are asking for him to go including Labour and Conservative members. They even talked about it in parliament this morning I believe.
The only thing more corrupt than FIFA must be the International Olympic Committee
Can Russia even affoard hosting the FIFA world cup in their current state of economy?

Last time we checked, they could barely host the olympic games (click, click, click).
That kinda puts them one or two notches just above Qatar... :/

My only hope is that they don't try hosting a few matches in Crimea as a show of strength. Now that'd be fucked up. Otherwise, the government will pull through, they always do. If there is nothing to build, there is nothing to siphon money from and they can't allow that.

it's like putin an blatter hang out in that room full of evil world leaders from "Naked Gun", except Qadafi and Saddam are no longer there

Dude, I don't know what the US did to you to make you haye them so much but come on. US banks were involved in the money process so of course the FBI is going to do something about it. Get your head out of your ass and think about it for more than a second.
Last time someone was gonna speak out about russian corruption, he was killed with polonium poisoning. I'd tread very lightly if I were chuck blazer
Fools don't realize this is all part of our secret plan to make them change their name to FISA.
Corrupt man supports another corrupt man, surprise surprise.

Thats nothing a lot of slave labour can't fix.
So we've finally found a use for north korea.
Backing up his collegue-in-corruption, eh.
Blatter offered him a refund for the 2018 world cup [del]bribes[/del] admin fees, obviously :v:
I can't wait for the Onion articles. The ones for the Olympics were great.
Um, i watched his "backin" of fifa guy, and i would not say he was concerned about him personally but rather expressed concern regarding timing (two days before election) and methods that were used.
FIFA is an international organisation and USA got a a bad record with detainment of foreign citizens abroad US soil in a past.
Not to mention that they are bringing them in to US court for being accused at corruption schemes on US terrtory without a final verdict , rather than provide interpol and respected european court right of justice over their citizens(atleast in my understanding). Then, if they are found guilty for messing with US bucks, they could have been sent to Murica for a secondary processing without a scandal.
Again, this is just my personal interpretation of official's state.
Does it seem to anyone else as if the Russian users are a little bit TOO loyal to their country?

Sorry for the derail but how do you get away with your avatar?
Does it seem to anyone else as if the Russian users are a little bit TOO loyal to their country?
Not significantly more in my opinion. I think perhaps it's easier/more popular to support the US/Europe.
Then again there are plenty of idiots blinding defending the US and since there are fewer notable Russian users here they're more noticed than their Patriotic American counterparts.
One thing's for sure, perception bias is to blame.
$5 Putin and Blatter love playing with their balls.
