• Growing talks of an impeachment trial of President Obama. Senior advisor says it's a 'possibility'.
Washington (CNN) – Dan Pfeiffer, a longtime aide and senior adviser to President Barack Obama, told reporters Friday that recent talk of impeaching the President should not be considered a long shot. "I would not discount that possibility," Pfeiffer said, pointing out that a CNN/ORC International poll released Friday indicated that a third of Americans think Obama should be impeached. Pfeiffer, who spoke to reporters at The Monitor Breakfast, pointed at recent attempts by House Republicans to sue the President as evidence that they would consider impeachment in the future. "Speaker Boehner, by going down the path of this lawsuit, has opened the door to Republicans possibly considering impeachment at some point in the future," Pfeiffer said. "I think that if the President enacted immigration reform that would certainly up the likelihood that they would contemplate impeachment." Although one-third of Americans endorsed impeaching Obama, according to the CNN poll, a sizable 65% said they wouldn't take that step. There were also, expectedly, partisan divisions on the question with 57% of Republicans but only 35% of independents and 13% of Democrats backing a move to impeach Obama.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/07/25/senior-obama-adviser-on-impeachment-i-would-not-discount-that-possibility/?hpt=hp_t2
What would be the point? The fact Obama's public relations are down the drain, his mere existence as president will continue to strengthen the Republicans/Independent parties in the House and Senate.
It would be a completely symbolic affair and a complete waste of time as long as the Senate is in democratic hands. Plus, the public is against it for now, so the Republicans would incur the wrath of the people and scate/ dissuade any potential independent voters. If the RNC leadership has half a brain cell, they'd go after impeaching the cabinet first.
I'd love to know what crime they claim he committed, when I've asked people who want to impeach Obama they keep pointing to silly procedural stuff that he's perfectly entitled to do.
By the time they actually get everything together his term will be nearly over anyway.
It wouldn't be much different from Clinton's impeachment, which happened half way through his second term, so a little later in his presidency than Obama right now.
I'd love to know what crime they claim he committed, when I've asked people who want to impeach Obama they keep pointing to silly procedural stuff that he's perfectly entitled to do.
as far as ive heard, it's the fact that he uses executive order too much, which is ironic
as far as ive heard, it's the fact that he uses executive order too much, which is ironic
Hasn't he used it less than like, any other president in the last decade or so?
Hasn't he used it less than like, any other president in the last decade or so?
I think the issue is more-so not about how many, but how many significant ones.
While I haven't like Obama's presidency all that much, I honestly can't think of a reason to impeach him.
Hasn't he used it less than like, any other president in the last decade or so?
Googled it a bit, a lot of sources are saying he hasn't. I mean he's used a lot, but not the most.
Hasn't he used it less than like, any other president in the last decade or so?
There haven't been many presidents in the last decade?
Who cares about impeaching Obama. It's 2014 and we are already getting hyped up about the next election just two years away. Obama screwed up a few times, but mostly he was just ineffective inaction. I wonder if impeaching Obama, considering the fact that he's african-american, would result in nation wide riots, sorta like the LA Rodney King riots.
I hope the Republicans impeach Obama because it's going to be so fucking embarrassing for them when it fails spectacularly.
No point, the damage was done when he signed the NDAA into power which should have been when they said he violated the constitution and impeach him then. Now it's just a total fucking waste of time and resources.
I hope the Republicans impeach Obama because it's going to be so fucking embarrassing for them when it fails spectacularly.
I want to see the crashing and burning SO MUCH. these dicks have done nothing but act like children for 6 years, all the while trying to pretend it's not because he's black and has a foreign name.
Republicans have essentially done nothing for 6 years except bring the US government to it's knees several times for no real reason, so bringing the US government to it's knees again for some erroneous impeachment proceedings wouldn't make much of a difference. American politics is a joke.
Hasn't he used it less than like, any other president in the last decade or so?
He's used less than any president in the last 100 years and less per year than any president in the last 125 years.
That's right, he may not have been the best of presidents, but he sure as hell wasn't no Richard Nixon or George Bush. Attempting to impeach him for impeachment's sake is pretty low on the politics side of things, and won't get them any mileage either, as like as not.
I really don't see what he's done to deserve impeachment, to me it seems like a bunch of crying republicans not getting their own way
i still hear the amazing argument of "we should impeach him because hes a fucking nigger"
Whoever uses that sort of asinine argument ought to be disbarred permanently from ever holding official positions, and from politics in general. When you stoop to playing the race card, then you've proven that you're a first rate idiot who can't think of proper arguments to save your life.
i like obama id have a beer with him

Impeach, lynch, kill, murder, yadda yadda. Is it any wonder that I'm on medication for stress? Just the other day, my girlfriends dad went into a complete tirade over obummer. Guns gettin' takin' away, constitution, fgdsfgds.
i know a ton of people, because they hear about it in the news, want obama impeached for using executive orders "more than any other president" and they don't realize he's nowhere close to that obama has invoked 183 because of a divided house franklin d. roosevelt invoked 3,522 because of the great depression calvin coolidge was, and is, regarded highly by republicans for weakening the federal government and he invoked 1,203 executive orders to do so hell, even reagan and bush invoked 381 and 291 respectively, and they had absolutely no shit to deal with that wasn't the because of their own administration; reagan used it to get his ass out of trouble for the middle east
Imo He's a pretty decent president in pretty difficult times to be president.
i still hear the amazing argument of "we should impeach him because hes a fucking nigger"
I understand that it would be poor political play to start name calling other politicians and using hate words. But I'm sure there's some rowdy republican that's about to burst at the seams and just call Obama a Nigger just because. I mean no matter what poor excuse the right wingers say, it's obvious to me what their problem is. It's the same problem they've had with Obama since Day fucking 1 of his being President of the United States. He's colored (I say colored because some say he's mixed, so whatever). You can say he's "trying to boss us around" or "he's a hardcore liberal" or "MAH GUNZ", but the major problem I just know the Repubs are just dying to admit, is that they don't WANT a dark skinned Leader. They probably don't give a crap about a colored senator, or congress man, or representative, or even a Supreme Court Judge. But for them the very idea of a President that's not white, and/or not Straight, and/or not Christian, would rustles their jimmies really bad. It's great that Obama got to be President, and despite his mistakes I still am proud to call him my President, because he has done quite alot more than Bush Jr. ever did. But if the Republican party is trying their damnedest to come up with any valid excuse to get mad at Obama without having to admit that it's race, then we still have some problems regarding non-white people in Major power.

Can we just impeach all of Congress first?
"Impeach him! He wants to make life better for people with affordable healthcare, and that's DIRTY SOCIALISM!"
"Impeach him! He wants to make life better for people with affordable healthcare, and that's DIRTY SOCIALISM!"
And the people you hear saying shit like that often can't define socialism. Not that they're even using it incorrectly, they don't understand it as a concept, only a right-wing talking point codeword that they know can be slipped into a range of contexts. I sometimes wonder if the kneecapping of the education system through funding cuts was a deliberate long play to create a more stupid and manipulatable populace. I mean, Fox News' business model depends on it.
