Inkscape 0.46 users?

Are there any Inkscape 0.46 users producing anything of real merit?
I need some help using some bitmap->path techniques and
also I'm not really getting the raster functions.

I'm pretty familiar with inkscape, what exactly do you need to know?

As for the raster functions, those can only be applied to bitmap objects. If you want to use them on paths, press Alt+B to make a bitmap copy and then apply the raster effect to the copy. However, I recommend steering clear of these extensions because they're tedious to work with. If you want to edit a path that you've applied a raster effect to, you have to remake the bitmap copy and reapply the raster effect.

It's much better to use filters whenever possible because those do update when you change the path they're applied to.

Thanks for the help...feverishly reading the linked tutorial and will try out some of the tips later today...if I come up with anything good, I will post.
