That was a slug fest, but I was more entertained by the Holm/Tate fight.
Mcgregor thought he was gonna finish in the first round, got way too cockey and practically let him have that hold at the end. Kind of piss poor performance on his part you can tell he underestimated Diaz almost immediately.
I honestly thought Diaz was going to be a joke but he did pretty well all things considered.

I don't watch any of this but I've been seeing loads of that Mcgregor guy being cockey to everything and everyone
Makes you wonder how Conor would've fared against Dos Anjos. Conor ate some clean shots from Chad Mendes during the interim featherweight title, but walked straight through them, whereas he got wobbled by a few shots from Diaz in this fight. Nate's obviously taller and has longer reach than Dos Anjos, but Dos Anjos hits hard as a fucking truck, and probably could've used his wrestling to smother Conor earlier.
Still, entertaining as fuck fight all throughout, and lesser dudes would've gotten slept by the punches Nate took in the first round.
It was a good fight, he was punching above his own weight.

Thing is he has the fight history to back it up. He does talk it up but general he's quite intelligent compared to the rest and that's usually where his strength is.
This time, he sized Diaz up as a lucky idiot and payed for it.
Honestly, it's betraying of Mcgregor's usual approach towards a fight and people can talk about the weight classes all they want to Mcgregor would have won had he not so easily slipped in a few places.

Great fight, Conor seemed to be in control in the beginning but Diaz just got better and better. After that clean hit to Conors chin it was over and the only question was whether Diaz would knock him out or submit him. Don't know what Conor was thinking shooting in on Diaz though.
Hopefully Conor will be more humble from now on, he is definitely a top tier fighter.

Also was interesting how you could see the progression of mcgregors troubles by just looking in his eyes.
In the post-match conference, was good to see everybody having respect for each other and McGregor giving Diaz the dues he deserves for beating him, also Diaz giving Conor his dues for putting up an epic fight. but holy hell he was right about "warming up"
From the way MacGregor had it in his last round, he didn't put up much of a guard, I thought he was getting too cocky.
That was when Diaz threw the punches that fucked up McGregor and it just went downhill from there.
Stockton Motherfucker indeed. I've been a fan of the Diaz brothers for a while now, they may not have the most incredible W/L ratios but when they fight you can tell they want it. It's a shame Nick Diaz is having trouble with the NSAC.

I don't think he will, and honestly Dana probably doesn't want him to be. His trash talking and braggadocio really help bring in a crowd. It's largely for show I imagine, I think it's the same with Rousey too. They know that people want their fighters to be characters.

Nah, Rousey playing the boohoo, "all I do is sit in my [mansion] alone and cry, it was so awful [buy my stuff"] card pretty much obliterated any stock she had.
That and immediately saying she'd love to fight a woman 30 pounds lighter than her pretty much show where her proclivities are, and it isn't "keep things hype", it's being a 10th dan douchnozzle.

Conor winded himself doing spinning kicks and he lost his composure after he got hit by someone who is bigger than he is. He kept his hands down in the second, either from ignorance or being out of it. Same thing goes for that terrible takedown attempt.
All that technique and movement doesn't mean shit after you have been winded and stunned by being hit in the face, I guess Conor didn't have that much of a chin.

prior to her loss she was definitely being a marketing genius. But yeah it seems post fight she's just lost it. I feel like all that suicidal stuff was either her trying to start a comeback story or just her quasi abusive upbringing has destroyed her psychologically.
McGregor handled himself very well though. I'm not a huge fan of him but he was very respectful in that post-fight interview
