• David Bowie's Cocaine Psychosis

I was recently getting back into Bowie, and I came across these two YouTube clips of an interview he did back in '75. Keep in mind that this is the period of time that Bowie himself later claimed he only lived on three things: milk, red peppers, and blow. I know the quality's shitty, but I get a kick out of watching Bowie shifting in his seat and fidgeting nervously throughout the interview, like a kid at the Principal's office. Poor Dick Cavett is trying so hard to get decent responses out of Bowie, but Bowie's just way too fucked up on coke. Cavett asks Bowie if he could recommend any books to his fans, Bowie responds "Besides yours?" Dick Cavett has never written any books :v:
And through his cocaine insanity he made one of my favourite albums, Low. I have a book about the recording of that album. Supposedly during the recording of a song, the drummer screwed up and stopped, along with the rest of the band, but Bowie kept playing till the song ended and after he listened to the playback he said something like, "Okay it's great"
Wasn't Low the start of the Berlin trilogy? Cause I think that's when he just started pulling himself together. He remembers nothing about the production of Station to Station though.
Yeah. He was just trying to kick, but he was still doped up half the time.
:350: Gotta love the Thin White Duke
