We were tasked with representing a journey for English, this is what I came up with. All done in After Effects using images (and video to a lesser extent).
Uhh, it made no sense. And image bending + color filter didn't look good
The video itself is really awesome, but I don't get how it's a "journey". But like I said, the video is great, the editing is very cool.
Okay, so, the sound is really great and some of the effects look a bit wonky, but still pretty good nonetheless. It looks more like an intro to a short than a short movie though.
This is fucking awesome. You should do a VFX breakdown video showing how you made it. I love this style of motion graphics, too.
You got movements pretty well down. But you should really drop the fisheye, bulge and warp effects. They just look really really weird and make no sense. I would also work on making the images blend together instead of having the black lines between them. Maybe make the airplanes travel between the images so that it doesn't just look like a weird image slide but an actual journey between places. You should have also made the fast sliding images slide slower so that we could see the locations, but still fast enough to just pass by, just make the image actually possibly to see for two blinks of an eye.
i loved it! i was totally buggin out, good work

Thanks for pointing out the overuse of perspective twisting stuff as no one has brought that up before.
Some of the parts need much better interpolation and motion. It has the technical ability but lacks punch and consistency to me. I wasn't sure what you were trying to get across or how you were trying to do it
Only a Hunter fan could truly appreciate it
This post made me go :smug:
That was pretty cool!
Filter rape.
Filter rape.
No filters, individually adjusted colour settings in the composition.
Cool idea but its rather hectic because you got trigger-happy with the effects. The only way I would consider it a journey though is I guess it's a good representation of a classic 1970s LSD trip.
Liked the warping and lens distortion, but I think Wiggle is overused.
Filter rape =/= art.
Filter rape =/= art.
Read what he posted. Not filter rape.
Read what he posted. Not filter rape.
When people call filter rape it doesn't have to be a filter. Overuse of effects are called out as filter rape. Digital filters are after all post-processing effects.
