Texas lawmakers sent notices to schools informing them that new legislation allows students and teachers to dress in festive garb and say "Merry Christmas" all they want without fear of punishment.
Was this for real?
Some Christians believe their right to 'be a Christian' is under threat in conservative Texas.
At last the oppression ends.
Rick Perry 2016
christians have been oppressed for too long!
take that feminism
on a side note, this news story is how i signify the start of the "christmas season". it isn't after halloween or when all the commercials become christmasified. for me, the season starts when the texas government declares their annual war on the war on christmas.
It's mainly there to prevent outrages lawsuits.

I REALLY can't wait for Colbert/Stewart's annual "War On Christmas" episodes now.
I live in Texas; this usually wasn't a big deal and no one enforced the law anyways. I didn't even know the law existed until last year.
People who seriously think that Christmas is under attack are dumb
Take that! Communism!
believe it or not texas public schools are an EXTREMELY anti-religious place (including Christianity)
you can't even take optional electives on religion
only dead religions are allowed to be mentioned in school
I do think it's stupid that you can't say "Merry Christmas" nowadays without someone getting pissed off about it. It's a friendly greeting, just like if I said, "Happy Ramadan" or whatever. All the Political Correct bullshit needs to stop.

Christmas lost its war with the forces of Mammon many years ago.
I wonder if that law applies to Hanukkah and Kwanzaa too, or everyone will turn right around and say, "STOP FORCING YOUR RELIGION SODOMITE".

Christmas cheer is like kryptonite to them
Another victory for the 2nd amendment!
Why the fuck does this even need to be an issue? If you actually have to legalize the term "Merry Christmas", then you know political correctness has gone completely out of control.

These kinds of posts are old & unoriginal like damn they're in almost every thread
Merry Christmas FacePunch! :v:
The idea someone would get punished for saying 'Merry Christmas' is nearly as ridiculous as a law making it legal to do so without punishment.
