T-They did it. They actually fucking did it! Holy shit. I know there are probably more important things to be concerned about when it comes to a new windows version, but this makes me super happy. Finally.
The new UI looks great. Shame the file explorer still doesn't have tabs though. Also I was hoping that the desktops would be completely separate where you could have one screen for gaming, one for work, one for media. He didn't show any of that sort of functionality so I'm assuming it's not in.
big round of applause to microsoft for finally catching up on a feature that essentially everyone else has had for years and years before
Yeah I think I can get behind this.
The new UI looks great. Either way, I can just install a theme pack made by someone a bit more competent in that aspect. Seriously, I've seen Android themes that look better. Why can't they hire someone like that?

That auto switching desktops with the browser seems like it might get frustrating pretty quickly. Hopefully there's a way to disable that (unless I missed it completely during the video somewhere).

I can't stand the fulllscreen programs and giant buttons that make me feel like I'm using an OS for the near-sighted.

Alright, Microsoft. You're on the right track. Now add tabs to Explorer.
This is still in development, so the visuals are still prone to change.
Consider how long this has been in development for already. But also consider that in it's current threshold state, they are taking feedback from their feedback teams (Who are leaking it to Germany :v:)

'bout a year - year and a half maybe? And that's if they realized it was failing that early.

Holy shit an option to change your lock screen. I mean, you can still do it on Windows 8, but it's so convoluted that you may as well not even bother.

Why can't they hire someone like that?
improving over windows 8 is like being the smartest person with a critical traumatic brain injury. windows 8's "flat" UI is kinda ok to use on tablets like the surface series but its super obvious on any desktop display that they put no effort into separating the two UI or adapting them to different clients. its really really really really embarrassing the state microsoft is in honestly. windows is basically a dead OS as far as innovation and excitement goes, its only holding on because it still has massive market share around the planet and the established application ecosystem for 99% of users exists on windows. their mobile OS is a big gross mess imo, totally failing to compete in any capacity with iOS or Google, their new tablet series that theyre desperately pushing is late to the game and lacking in any real distinguishing features other than a large scale marketing scheme and the nearly worthless microsoft seal of approval. bing, i dont even need to write a sentence about it. you already know about bing. i think microsoft is spread far too thin and theyre trying desperately to stay relevant in wayyy too many fields that they simply arent good at. they want to play the big boy "we do everything" game like google without putting any significant effort in any of these products and as a result they have a massive portfolio of mediocre and half assed services that make you wonder how the fuck they cant afford to hire some competent designers or project managers. its no wonder they laid off a ton of people recently

I want to be able to customize it and cater it to my liking out of the box. Not just "oh, change the colors and sounds!". Not with some third party programs that don't work 90% of the time (and it's not because it's torrented, I got a copy through DreamSpark) and has questionable performance when it does. Give me full control, like Steam has.
Expected as much. I don't think you know that siri defaults to bing :v:... I really don't care for the whole flat theme they have going on. It seems like it's tuned for LARGE or fullscreen windows. I like to have smaller windows instead. BUT, I wouldn't mind upgrading to Windows 9 by the looks of it. Just something I'd have to get used to.

People act like it's the end all solution but it really isn't... Yet.

Oh man, finally. Been wanting this in windows since I tried out Linux. Linux isn't there yet to be a full replacement for an average user, but it is really good to see that Microsoft is improving.
that looks exactly like it does in os x
I remember seeing this feature in the TV when Vista was coming out.
