I agree.
If this doesn't convince Microsoft to change their ideals, nothing will.
I doubt they'll listen to Valve anyway.
Fuck Microsoft. As soon as I heard they were making Live more expensive I decided to just fucking live without it.
If this doesn't convince Microsoft to change their ideals, nothing will.
Valve is a small developer, they're awesome, but they're not as renowned/well known as Bungie/IW.
They speak the truth. I have an Xbox and I like it, but come-on, 60$ for Xbox LIVE? Oh, and before the storm starts:
Chances are they won't care.
If this doesn't convince Microsoft to change their ideals, nothing will.
I don't think valve is as popular as you think they are
I don't think valve is as popular as you think they are
Steam accounts for the majority of online videogame sales.
Hope they just abandon releasing games for the 360, Microsoft needs to learn to change.
Christ, whenever I hear valve talk about microsoft and/or the 360, it makes me feel bad for having live.
Suck it, Microsoft.
Christ, whenever I hear valve talk about microsoft and/or the 360, it makes me feel bad for having live.
I hear ya...
I don't think valve is as popular as you think they are
are you kidding me? they are the biggest online distributor of games, best freaking "dmr" ever, and their forum is freaking huge
Valve are popular due the developer support and values it does- they do not make people pay for updates (Although l4d2 is a joke) and the source engine is sooooooo out of date. But their ethics are what make them great. But they can get away with it because of their money gold mine steam.
owned
Xbox Live doesn't suit Valve's style in any way. I agree with them that it is a train wreck of a service.
Steam accounts for the majority of online videogame sales.
Well I kind of meant on the 360, since that's what the thread is about, not many people know who valve is on it, at least not many that i've seen

That is so awesome
So basically the PS3 TF2 community might of been happy if Valve weren't such big babies back then when the only thing that mattered was Xbox 360.
I don't think valve is as popular as you think they are
Valve is still the best game developer I can think of.
are you kidding me? they are the biggest online distributor of games, best freaking "dmr" ever, and their forum is freaking huge
They don't have the best DRM people have been able to crack steam and get all the games.
Valve is still the best game developer I can think of.
Without a doubt they're in my top 3, but I just meant that not many 360 players know of them.
They don't have the best DRM people have been able to crack steam and get all the games.
Blocking some cracks is not what drm is all about. Its steady, and it doesnt affect you offline.
Well I kind of meant on the 360, since that's what the thread is about, not many people know who valve is on it, at least not many that i've seen
L4D/2 is really popular on the 360. [editline]09:07PM[/editline]
They don't have the best DRM people have been able to crack steam and get all the games.
Steam isn't even DRM tbh. And you realise that they don't download all the games from the Valve servers right? It's still piracy.
are you kidding me? they are the biggest online distributor of games, best freaking "dmr" ever, and their forum is freaking huge
Facepunch is over twice as big as the steam forum, and it's only a forum about a sandbox game for the source engine. :colbert:

It's not great at actually being a DRM, but it's great at being unintrusive and not a dick like most others on the market today.
steam community -> psn network would make me happy (like chat and profile and shit)
They don't have the best DRM people have been able to crack steam and get all the games.
Yeah but they don't piss on their actual customers for it.
