warning: hot stuff!
Oooh shit that looks good.
flippin sweet
HOLY CRAP that looks amazing!
meh. Looks good, not as good as I'd hoped.
Won't look even a 1/5th as good in the end. This is just beefed up on extremely expensive hardware, and might not even be rendered in real time.

This is a video capture of a real-time demo http://t.co/5WNfIrr - best to watch in HD!
and this article completely forgets to mention that a UDK update is coming out today with all those features.
and this article completely forgets to mention that a UDK update is coming out today with all those features.
Gotta prepare my computer for a torture session. :v:
Now to make use of this technology to make games even grittier and more saturated.
and this article completely forgets to mention that a UDK update is coming out today with all those features.
"Real time demo" means very little. It all depends on what it's running on (which is most probably not even standard consumer products, it probably was running on workstation hardware). Remember Crysis? Yeah. Good to see it's not pre-rendered stuff though.
and this article completely forgets to mention that a UDK update is coming out today with all those features.
Wait. So I'm a little confused here. Is this Unreal Engine 3 or that new one? And I'm having a hard time believing that if it is UE3, that it just spontaneously came (or coming) out for UDK today. Is there a changelog or something to back what you're saying?
If you put enough computer parts together you could render that in real time. I doubt we'll be seeing anything that looks remotely that good in a game for awhile though.
Holy balls.
I assume most of this looks so good because of the awesome models they are using.

Inception horns :v: Other than that, it wasn't as impressive as I expected — if it runs on consumer-grade hardware at 720p decently, though, it's gonna be insane
That is god damn amazing. Oh, and for those who might get it, doesn't this remind you of a certain guy named Greed? :buddy:

Poor fella never got to finish his cigarettes
Full Metal Alchemist, that Greed?
Full Metal Alchemist, that Greed?
Indeed. Very similiar.
in 20 year i can honestly say that at this rate i would not be able to tell the difference between a photo from real life and a game
in 20 year i can honestly say that at this rate i would not be able to tell the difference between a photo from real life and a game
i reckon it could come even faster. look at where we were 10 years ago or even 5 years ago, by 2020 we could have true photorealism as long as things like consoles don't hold development back
in 20 year i can honestly say that at this rate i would not be able to tell the difference between a photo from real life and a game
Gran Turismo 5
i reckon it could come even faster. look at where we were 10 years ago or even 5 years ago, by 2020 we could have true photorealism as long as things like consoles don't hold development back
Imho, the most realistic looking game out now, is actually the above PS3 game
I don't know video cards, is a GTX 580 really good?
It's the most powerful consumer GPU NVIDIA currently make.
