What is it?
Comic Con is an annual even held in San Diego where a bunch of geeks (Us) goes to look at and preview a bunch of geeky stuff. Generally pretty famous people attend, there's free promotional stuff from upcoming movies, games, and comics. There is also a sales floor, where people bring, and sell various collectibles. So far, various comic writers and artists are confirmed as guests, and more will be announced in the following weeks. This year, it's being held July 24-27
Tickets are no longer bought on site, nor can next year be preordered on site.
if you attended SDCC 2013, the order date is sometime in February

I went to a local convention not too long ago, and decided to count the homestucks. Obviously there's no way to tell which ones I've already counted 'cause there's so many of them, but I tried not to count the same ones twice.
I counted 213 by the end of the second day.
I still go each year since 2003. But I don't really bother with much anymore other than looking for any interesting art or autographs. I used to try to collect anything booth's handed out, but that barely happens anymore.
But I do like the atmosphere and having people want my picture.
I've tried to register, but it's complicated and I can't figure it out.

Yes I like homestuck but hate the troll cosplays
Figure I may as well go since I haven't ever been to one and I am stationed out here.
What would the cost of a badge be?

I was simply pointing out that your avatar fits what you said
I love you

The cost isn't the issue anymore. Being able to actually buy one is the hard part.

basically hope you can get in when general (not returning guests) admission opens up
I'll be going as my Daft Punk this year, flying from the UK and staying with soem buddies, not going just for this going for a couple of weeks but this'll be one of the things we do.

I'll probably go again as my colonial marine. But I need to find a way to fix up my shoulder lamp's weight issue.
It's a tad too heavy and keeps bending the back armor piece.

If I can get my Daft Punk helmet up and running you might just see the other half of daft punk as well :v: with a FP logo on it. I'd love to try and go this year

I'm relying on you now, if you dont finish it i'll be a mess
Only been there once, but we were luckily able to park in a private apartment parking lot thanks to my uncle. The best part of the whole thing was in incredibly aggressive Christian group protesting Comic Con for some reason :v:
I always wanted to get me and my buddies together to play as the cast from Bad Company
I have the glasses to be Sweetwater
Got an email saying pre-registration will be on February 8th, at 9:00am. The landing page will open at 7:00am. Pacific time.
I've heard from someone that there's a bunch of mini-conventions popping up around Downtown SD that are much more authentic and fun. Is that true?
Anyone here go to any of the MCM Comic Con's in the UK?

Oh man I should have recognised the Excel in the background, amazing costume dude!
The landing page will open at 7:00 AM Pacific Time (PT) for registration code authorization. Comic-Con 2014 badge preregistration will begin shortly after 9:00 AM (PT).
When the sale begins after 9:00 AM (PT), EPIC will take everyone who is already in the waiting room and sort them in random order for their registration session. You can enter the waiting room two hours before the sale begins, or 10 minutes before the sale begins, and your chances are the same. Your wait time is up to you!
Prepare yourself people, on the 8th, at 7:00 AM PT, the EPIC landing page will open. At 9:00 AM PT, the tickets will begin selling. So enter the landing page before 9:00 AM, as it will chose people at random to purchase. So be sure to get in after 7:00 AM, but before 9:00 AM.
In short, you have 2 hours to get into the waiting room, where you will be chosen at random at 9:00 AM for ticket purchase.
As for first timers, you'll have to wait for the general public one to open. Or ask a friend to buy a ticket for you.
