Billed as the oldest surviving actor to have worked with Chaplin, she gave Cohen one of the silent movie star’s signature canes to lark about with.
However, things went wrong when Cohen....
What a man.
Now that's how you accept your Charlie Chaplin award
Amazing
There is a level of irony at some point here but I can't quite place my finger on it
Wait, so did she actually die? Because I didn't really watch the entire aftermath and it seemed really fake considering these people were laughing their asses off still.
Edit, I was right, it was staged.

Cohen never fails to make me laugh. Any comedy award is well deserved.
Why is this being marketed as funny? A woman died, and a legendary one at that. You are all laughing because the media's telling you to, but someone is now dead. Now watch as he gets like little to no punishment for this.

It was staged
Did they snap the cane? Thats awful.

That's what I thought. There was no real way this could be real, the fact he carried her body out of the area instead of calling for help, the fact everyone was laughing. It didn't really make much sense.
It was staged
At her expense.

Truly one of the most dedicated actresses alive. Well, not anymore.
RIP.
How Cohen manages to plan these things is staggering, he really is a neat guy.
I doubt they would've put this up on BBC's Youtube channel(And edited the cheery voice in at the end) if you hadn't staged it.

The BBC is sadistic.
Just for you all worrying, she didn't die
As the Los Angeles Times reports, however, there was no Grace Collington; the actress on stage (and then off stage) was a stuntwoman.
People need to look at the stuff on LiveLeak more often if you want to know what an accident like that would really look like. Was a pretty funny stunt, I admit.

I'd hope nobody is that stupid.
He came to my town once as Ali G (my mum knows the miner afaik)

I rarely drop my jaw
This is one of those rare moments where I do
I can't find it, it's like my room has turned into a re-enactment of The Grudge
Ah man that sign off when he leaves the stage
Makes me wish for a new Ali G movie

Are you feeling okay? Can you move all of your facial muscles properly?
It was staged
You mean de-staged.
For a second I thought this was awful
then I found out it was staged and proceeded to laugh my ass off.
Did they snap the cane? Thats awful.
I doubt that it was an actual Charlie cane, it was probably just some cheap plywood thing painted to look old and nice.
I knew something was up when she started talking. She does not sound like an old woman at all.

How come everyone got the first post but then completely missed the second more obvious one
No one, not even that little old lady, deserves to be knocked off the stage by Sacha "Bad Man" Cohen. What a doofus...
Just in case some of you aren't getting this: This is fake. This is all fake. Obviously no one died, obviously he didn't destroy an old, rare cane.

She's not a little old lady, she's a stuntwoman.
