This is breaking news (being reported in the last few minutes), so the source is pretty bad. I'll update the OP when the source is updated.
Nato strike 'kills Saif al-Arab Gaddafi', Libya says A Nato air strike in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has killed the son of the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, a government spokesman has said. Colonel Gaddafi himself was in the large residential villa which was hit by the strike, the spokesman added, but he was unharmed. His son Saif al-Arab was killed, as well as three of his grandsons. Journalists say the building was extensively damaged and one unexploded bomb remains at the site. Government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said the villa was attacked "with full power." "The attack resulted in the matyrdom of brother Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, 29 years old, and three of the leader's grandchildren," he said. "The leader with his wife was there in the house with other friends and relatives, the leader himself is in good health, he wasn't harmed." "This was a direct operation to assassinate the leader of this country," the spokesman added. Saif al-Arab was the youngest of Muammar Gaddafi six sons.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13251570 It appears to be coming from a press conference in Libya. The spokesperson (Moussa Ibrahim) is calling it a direct assassination attempt on Gaddafi, apparently they hit a villa where he is staying. He used the word martyr quite a few times during the statement calling Gaddafi's son a martyr.
Hopefully Gaddafi himself is either "assassinated", assassinated or taken care of soon.
Poor Gaddafi, my condolences to him. Please stop rating this funny, he may be an asshole but he lost his fucking son.
Shit gonna hit the fan big style or no? what you think?
:20bux: all goes to hell now.
Karma's a bitch.
Assuming his crazy hasn't removed all human emotions yet, he might get extremely pissed off at this, and start making more mistakes giving more chances to kill him. I doubt it though as he is a special kind of crazy.
Shit gonna hit the fan big style or no? what you think?
You mean it hasn't yet?
Shit gonna hit the fan big style or no? what you think?
Shit could hit the fan in a very bad way for NATO IMO. Assassination and regime change is not allowed by the resolution. Although like a lot of stories out of Libya there is some extremely one sided reporting so far.
Hopefully Gaddafi himself is either "assassinated", assassinated or taken care of soon.
An eye for an eye?
I feel bad for his son, having this fate because his father is an incompetent idiot.
The BBC are showing more of the press conference, the spokesperson is saying that Libya is ready for "change" and "elections". First I have heard him say that.
Bombing a house with aircraft is not a fucking assassination, no matter what these assholes blabber. Of course the obvious goal is to kill him but it's nothing like assassinating somebody personally.
I feel bad for his son, having this fate because his father is an incompetent idiot.
Which son was it that said that anyone who rises up against the government, will have their blood in the street, or something like that?
Bombing a house with aircraft is not a fucking assassination, no matter what these assholes blabber. Of course the obvious goal is to kill him but it's nothing like assassinating somebody personally.
It technically is an assassination, they are trying to kill a specific person. Just because its not being done stealthy does not mean its not assassination.
Everything about that is grim.
Col Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, condemned the "cowardly" attack.
Never call NATO cowardly.
Poor Gaddafi, my condolences to him. Please stop rating this funny, he may be an asshole but he lost his fucking son.
ok? Look, I'm all for human rights and against UN intervention, but I'm sure his son is just as fucked up as he is so no sentiments there.
Which son was it that said that anyone who rises up against the government, will have their blood in the street, or something like that?
It's still his father who raised him like this.
ok? Look, I'm all for human rights and against UN intervention, but I'm sure his son is just as fucked up as he is so no sentiments there.
I know nothing about Gaddafis' son, so you may be right. But I'm sure someone like his father would feel bad. Anyway I'm going to stop posting here before I'm ridiculed or banned or something.
Which son was it that said that anyone who rises up against the government, will have their blood in the street, or something like that?
The other more public son, Saif al-Islam.
Poor Gaddafi, my condolences to him. Please stop rating this funny, he may be an asshole but he lost his fucking son.
yeah because thousands of people didn't lose their sons at his hands, it's more like an eye for thousands of eyes.
I know nothing about Gaddafis' son, so you may be right. But I'm sure someone like his father would feel bad. Anyway I'm going to stop posting here before I'm ridiculed or banned or something.
Gadaffi is batshit insane, whatever fraction of a second of remorse he might feel will quickly be overshadowed by some sort of crazy rage
I know nothing about Gaddafis' son, so you may be right. But I'm sure someone like his father would feel bad. Anyway I'm going to stop posting here before I'm ridiculed or banned or something.
Gaddafi stopped being considered a human with emotions when he hired god damned mercenaries to kill his protesting civilians because the military wouldn't do it properly. You should never feel sorry for a man that does such things.
BBC are talking to their correspondent in Tripoli now. Apparently it happened at 8 oclock (local) and it took two hours for the Libyan authorities to take them to see it. They are also saying that there was an unexploded rocket inside of the house.
yeah because thousands of people didn't lose their sons at his hands, it's more like an eye for thousands of eyes.
More like someone else's eye for thousands of eyes. His son/grandsons didn't deserve to die for what he did.
More like someone else's eye for thousands of eyes. His son/grandsons didn't deserve to die for what he did.
Yeah, but something tells me he's indoctrinated them as well.
Yeah, but something tells me he's indoctrinated them as well.
Doesn't mean they deserve death.
I feel bad for the mother. God knows what he will do now.
Doesn't mean they deserve death.
True, but I'm not saying they do. I just don't feel bad for him.
