My mother grew up in Texas.
She says it's pretty accurate. At least certain parts, like the obsessions over lawns and football.
Some characters.
Dang it bobby
Foot-ball!
I guess, but KOTH seems more like a mix of north and west Texas, although I've been in north Texas way more.
I live near Dallas and they even mention the flea market that's close by, which was pretty funny.
snippity
It's reasonably accurate. (I live in Fort Worth)
I think it was based on Richardson, which is near Dallas
How about dem cowboys.
My lesbian history teacher always said that every morning. Shes obsessed with Texas.
Lived in Texas for fourteen years, and from what I've seen it's pretty accurate, though exaggerated most of the time.
it is i tell you what

I live in Fort Worth as well. :haw:
What part?
I would say KOTH is a bit exaggerated as well.
It's actually a very good show.

Well the show actually does take place in the north of Texas.
I was watching some home renovation show on there was someone on there that talked like Boomhauer. They even had subtitles. Dunno if it was in Texas.

Link to this show. PLEASE.
I live in the furthest suburbs of Austin, Texas, and it doesn't feel any different from any other American suburb. Though, I occasionally visit smaller cities like New Braunfels (home of the world-famous Schlitterbahn waterpark) and Waco (where my brother lives), and they feel a tad closer to King Of The Hill.
Really, King Of The Hill just distills the best, worst, funniest parts of middle-class suburban Texas.
My friend's dad who is from Texas is basically Boomhauer, he sounds exactly like him and looks a lot like him too.

Hell, you'll find Boomhauers anywhere in the United States. For example, take the dude my improv teachers ran into on one of their comedy tours:

I'd personally say, it is pretty close. I live in Oklahoma, only been to Texas a couple of times. Not everyone is like that. It kind of just shows some of the people there are though, like the types of people.

I live in San Antonio, before that, I lived in San Diego, not much of a difference, other than the weather.
Not the majority of Austin, or really any of the other major cities.
However it does accurately reflect the hill country type people.
I know at least one person who fits every character on that show exactly.
I live in San Antonio. Not really accurate here. We're one of the more urban cities though so I'm not entirely sure. Went to New Braunfels once which is a small German town. It felt a bit more accurate there but still dragged out.

I don't get the appeal.
I know a Texan and she sells propane so yes.
