Umm. Nice, I guess.
Wow. This will come in handy for sure :buddy:
Earth is saved! :buddy:
One wonders why this wasn't made sooner. Better late then never I guess.
I want one
I just hope this gets the attention it deserves.
I don't understand how he believes we will reduce our CO2 emissions by converting plastic back to oil; the outcome will be us just having more oil, thusly people will be able to drive their cars longer.

Sure the cars will drive longer, but because of this invention the cars can drive for (x) amount of time more, and even with this (x) increase of time, we will still have the same footprint as without the (x) amount of time, therefore having the same footprint for 2 differents amount of time, without (x) and with. Oh and hopefully this doesn't get stolen by some oil companies so it can be be available commercially to the public.

If we recycle shit like this, the transportation aspect of the whole thing is literally negated.

Plastic island is going to be gone in a heart beat.
At least now we don't have to worry about running out of oil. For a little while.
How much did it cost to make?
I hope this thing gets popular, because I want one. Also, it was very nice of him to give it to 3rd world countries. They really seem to need them the most.
Remember that matter and energy can't just appear or disappear. Reversing the process probably costs a lot of energy, and one might wonder what the cost effectiveness is.
We will still have the global warming problem though.
I heard about this. Doesn't it take more energy to operate than the energy you get from the oil?
Converting plastic back to oil isn't new. [editline]10:49AM[/editline]
I heard about this. Recycling is almost always more efficient than using raw materials.
Probably not. The energy output of oil is pretty high. Recycling is almost always more efficient than using raw materials.
It is probably more efficent then digging a well and getting new oil, but that doesn't mean it has a postive output when converting plastic to oil. Plastic has a high boiling point, and I doubt that the energy you get from the oil can replace that. But that's not really the point, the point is we can get rid of a shitload of plastic if someone gets funds for it.
Noble price right there.
Build this on an industrial scale and we'll have less plastic to worry about and more oil to use!
I wish i had one of these, i have like 10 Gatorade bottles next to me and i need gas for my car.
Goodbye future oil shortages.
He should make it so that it automatically burns some of the oil it produces to help keep itself running.
I like how it can make Diesel aswell as gasoline.
Build this on an industrial scale and we'll have less plastic to worry about and more oil to use!
Could add onto regular gas stations with these converters but ones that are massive, local plastic waste can be delivered to them daily [editline]02:01PM[/editline] and/or a place for you to drop off your waste for some cash
I'd buy one and sell the gas outside my house.

You'd need some kind of filter though, cause you know retarded people can be, dropping loads of shit in there.
So, this is pretty much the Mr. Fusion from Back to the Future. That's pretty cool.
