I played on a L4D server once that allowed 5 or so vocalise commands within a short period of time, once you exceeded that you were banned from it for the next 20 minutes or so. God damn it was annoying, you try to alert your team mates towards pills they missed or Molotov cocktails, and you get banned from it.
Wow, holy shit, I did not expect that. Good thing though.
That's why I use my mic.
Finally.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK. [img_thumb]word[/img_thumb]
I rated... Informative? This can't be right!
Hell no. Will this count for L4D as well?
:911: *salutes* I'm going to miss it.
Why can't they just make a command to disable and enable vocalize commands?
[QUOTE=keroba3;20377872]That's why I mute.[/QUOTE] Wait, what? You WANT to miss items?
Good riddance.
Pills here.
Wait, when did this become official?
good riddance, this shit was just down right annoying
And this is the first time I've heard of this. I just pulled the sounds I wanted out and tossed them in HLSS. As long as you know what you're doing, they sound perfectly clear. I've found it easier than dealing with the other ingame stuff.
they should ban CERTAIN vocalize commands, not all of them, because they're useful
I always hated people spamming them in the middle of a match, it just got old and annoying really quick. They could've just made it so it would delay the use, but oh well. [editline]07:12AM[/editline] They could also make it a server option, where it's on by default but can be disabled for the people who want it.
I laugh at people who whine "Oooh they banned vocalize commands now we can't communicate!" As far as i know only 0.00000008% of the players who use these commands actually used them right. Done.
Thank god.
Well this is kind of dumb. Mic spamming has always been way more of a problem than the vocalize commands, in my experience anyway.
Wububububububu. [editline]01:57PM[/editline] Wubububu [editline]01:58PM[/editline] Wububububu [editline]01:58PM[/editline] Wububububububububu
It should be optional. They shouldn't just force it
[QUOTE=-TRASE-;20378218]... [editline]03:24PM[/editline] Point your crosshair on the item, select "Look" from the radial menu. I was commenting more on the implementation than the actual banning, if this one just blocks ones entered via the console/bound to keys and not ones triggered from the menu, then I don't see anything wrong with it.
god damnit! why couldnt they have just gotten rid of dedicated servers or something unimporant like that.
Why was this such an issue that valve decided to ban it? oh yea, the faggots who abused it, just like with sv_cheats [img_thumb]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/emoot/argh.gif[/img_thumb]

On a related note, I find it extremely odd that rather than limiting vocalize commands to games with sv_cheats enabled they found it necessary to remove them from the game completely.
Those blody bastards!
Now I can't say ass clown whenever I want :emo:
