Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and International Development Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau say the federal government plans to spend $650 million over three years for sexual and reproductive health. The government says its support -- unveiled on International Women's Day -- will focus on sexuality education, improving reproductive health services and investing in family planning and contraceptives. Aw man. Bring that shit down here please.
I'm 100% behind this. The more money that gets spend on proper reproductive healthcare the better.
I'm 100% behind this. The more money that gets spend on proper reproductive healthcare the better.
Wheres it coming from though? I've seen lots of bills related to spending, but very few for making money, and more taxes isnt the answer
nobody tweet this @realdonalddumpf because he'll unveil a 1 Bn$ plan to promote christian family values, ban contraceptives, fund antiabortion groups and subsidize viagra
To be fair, that's pretty savage if he did it
it's pretty fucking stupid if he did.
Meanwhile, in the good version of America...
The fact of the matter here is Trudeau is sinking Canada in the hole more and more. He's piling debt on us with no fucks given. I mean, sexuality training and sexual health is important but how about we try and fix our economy first? As you might see, for Canadians, any good this guy is doing is over shadowed by the fact that this is just more shit that we have to pay for out of our pockets.
You're welcome to move to america and get a taste of life without healthcare.
Nah I think I'll stay in Canada to witness the day when Canada has no money left to support our healthcare system, and thus forcing us to leech of an american version off "THE WORLDS GREATEST HELTHCARE SYSTEM PLAN" as described by the trump administration. You could argue all you want that we have it better off in this case. Well, we do. But for how long is what nobody wants to talk about.
That's nice, now fix electoral process
I'm fine with paying $650m/30m people = $20 in taxes for this
No kidding. Where were people like DiBBs when Harper wanted to spend ten billion dollars on the F35? 650m is a pittance.
I'm fine with paying $650m/30m people = $20 in taxes for this
Fucking THIS!!! It's more fiscally conservative for the VAST majority of society!

Furthermore, if it were that easy for our nation to pay off debt, don't you think we would be debt free by now? It's the constant additions of more expenditure.
I feel that the problem could be remedied quickly by raising taxes on those with the highest incomes in Canada, but that would be unpopular.
I think you may be right. Most of the highest earners in Canada are business owners. Business owners can write many expenses off that would normally become a non tax deductible. In my opinion businesses aren't paying enough tax. It's been like that for a long time. The situation is much more dire than 650mil divided by 30 mil. Unfortunately in the real world it doesn't just work like that.
I'm fine paying my share for somebody across the country to be able to get the treatment that may very well save their life, you should be too.
Is any of this domestic spending or is it all foreign investment? It seems to be foreign investment if I'm reading into this correctly. Not domestic healthcare spending.
I'm fine paying my share for somebody across the country to be able to get the treatment that may very well save their life, you should be too.
That's the difference between leftists and rightists. For rightists its "I got mine, fuck you."

Sure they're spending a lot on social services, but it's all for making the country a better place and in the end i'm sure they'll make lots of it back from taxing legal marijuana [editline]8th March 2017[/editline]
Is any of this domestic spending or is it all foreign investment? Saying 650m is nothing is retarded. It's a lot of money, most of you have grasp on how much that is. It's to a good cause, just don't say it's pittance, because that's just so ridiculously naive.
