The South Korean military fired "tens" of 155mm artillery rounds after it said North Korea fired a projectile at a South Korean propaganda loudspeaker. I wonde'r if thing's will get heated.
The title is longer than the actual news.
This was mentioned on /k/ a few minutes ago. Everyone was calling bullshit on it. I guess not.
Should have said dozens. Perhaps its just me but 10s is usually followed up by of thousands. Automatically fill in the blank without knowing it.
Should have said dozens. Perhaps its just me but 10s is usually followed up by of thousands. Automatically fill in the blank without knowing it.
I suppose it might make sense if they launched less than 2 dozen missiles.
Surprised the landmines outside the guard post weren't the primary reason for the shelling.
Wonder if this will escalate. It's been a while since South Korea actually reacted to North Korea's bullshit.
Wonder if this will escalate. It's been a while since South Korea actually reacted to North Korea's bullshit.
Really doubt it, both sides would rather not have a war. North Korea cause they will probably lose and South Korea cause they will suffer heavy losses and unification is not really that great for South Korea
Surprised the landmines outside the guard post weren't the primary reason for the shelling.
Thing is: NK wants to provoke retaliation so they can justify more attacks, if SK just turns on the loudspekers as they did they did after the mines, it's not enough for them to justify more than just what they did now
Unless something really drastic happens, I doubt the two Koreas will ever unite. Both sides have reasons not to.
IT'S HAPPENING [sp]I wonder where those rounds landed tho[/sp]
was probably just a bottle rocket
Should have said dozens. Perhaps its just me but 10s is usually followed up by of thousands. Automatically fill in the blank without knowing it.
only reason anyone would ever say "10s" would be if it was less than 24 but more than 19
We're just angry from the mine earlier [editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
IT'S HAPPENING [sp]I wonder where those rounds landed tho[/sp]
Didnt hit according to korean media
I don't believe it, but if they did, good on them. They did say they weren't going to tolerate the bullshit anymore and even as bad as the outcome may be, it's about time someone put their foot down and said No More to North Korea. But seeing as I really doubt they fired into North Korea and probably into the ocean over their border, ain't shit going to change or happen
that's dumb SK shouldn't have to stoop to NKs level to prove a point, Norks are crazy. That's why they pull shit shit in the first place. All this has done is endanger lives over a pointless propaganda broadcast.

On one it it means letting one of the most unpleasant regimes - death camps and all - on the planet to continue to exist for decades to come, while on the other it means ending it with a few tens of thousands of friendly casualties in 2 months.
Nothing will happen from this.
DMZ Round 454362.
Korean DMZ border skirmishes and artillery duels are as much a part of nature as green grass and blue skies nowadays.
only reason anyone would ever say "10s" would be if it was less than 24 but more than 19
Anything above 12 can be qualified as dozens though. Multiple doesn't necessitate a whole number.
Anything above 12 can be qualified as dozens though. Multiple doesn't necessitate a whole number.
No, you need 24 for it to be doezens, plural. Between 13 and 23, you just got 'more than a dozen'.
No, you need 24 for it to be doezens, plural. Between 13 and 23, you just got 'more than a dozen'.
Not really. Think of it in terms of.. dollars? You have 1 dollar. You have 1 and a half dollars. You have 2 dollars. Plural is more than one by definition.
Also complete fuckin' collapse of South Korea's economy due to the reunification - Germany's still lagging a bit in the east, and the gab is much, much wider between the Koreas than it was between the Germanies.
I would guess there is a serious and profitable potential for small item mass production in the North. Like China was 10 or 20 years go.
I would guess there is a serious and profitable potential for small item mass production in the North. Like China was 10 or 20 years go.
Who's going to pay the workers and with what money? As far as reunification goes, for south korea's economy's sake its just best if the north as on it's own. Otherwise it would just be too big of a burden for the south to handle.
Not really. Think of it in terms of.. dollars? You have 1 dollar. You have 1 and a half dollars. You have 2 dollars. Plural is more than one by definition.
Also, this makes no sense. Dozen is a unit of multiples, not a currency. IF a baker baked 13 donuts and advertized in the window of the shop that there were "dozens", it would be inaccurate. Just like dozens of missiles is inaccurate of only 12 are fired.
Also complete fuckin' collapse of South Korea's economy due to the reunification - Germany's still lagging a bit in the east, and the gab is much, much wider between the Koreas than it was between the Germanies.
Who says it needs to be re-unified. I don't see why they can't just stay two different countries
Gee, I don't know, maybe the companies that want a somewhat educated labor force to manufacture their products at a cost lower than China?
Who says it needs to be re-unified. I don't see why they can't just stay two different countries
Because the collapse of the dictatorship would be the citizens would be even more on their own. It would aslo open the door for humanitarian missions to help the poor people of the north. The only reason the world isn't helping the citizens of the north as much as it is is because its a militarized state that expressed it does not want any help. It's not a matter of whether or not the world would step in to help given the chance, but how. And how is a very good question in this case. [editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
Gee, I don't know, maybe the companies that want a somewhat educated labor force to manufacture their products at a cost lower than China?
This is almost more abhorrent than the current economic situation in NK. Basically slave labour. Essentially this illustrates little change between the kim reign and the proposed commercial takeover. I would also hope that the UN would step in and stop something like that from happening.
