I will be in San Francisco for the session and will be live blogging from it as networking allows. We'll have a couple of other PC Perspective staffers chiming in as well, so it should be an interesting event for sure! We don't know how much detail Microsoft is going to get into, but we will all know soon. Windows 9 only.
I'm doubtful they'd ever try that disastrous tactic again.
Hopefully when DX12 cards come out DX11 card prices drop. I just probably can't count on that.

Xbox one performance boosts confirmed. Looks like both amd and intel are collaborating with microsoft for a big ol group hug of cooperation to make this good for everybody This presentation is turning out way less shitty than expected and now I am little bit more excited about the future of PC gaming.
Seems like it improves CPU performance significantly. Finally, I will be able to play GTA4 at more than 20fps at lowest settings on my highish end PC.
Will AMD's Mantle have any purpose now?
Windows 7 support not confirmed or denied. Was asked though.

I know I'm just making a joke about how GTA4 needs a 20ghz cpu to run decently.
I guess they won't support Windows 7, since DirectX 11.2 already isn't.
DirectX 12 is supported on current hardware.
What's your source on this? That'd be absolutely amazing if true.
SonofBrim;44301396']What's your source on this? That'd be absolutely amazing if true.
The blogpost.
Q: Should I wait to buy a new PC or GPU? A: No – if you buy a PC with supported graphics hardware (over 80% of gamer PCs currently being sold), you’ll be able to enjoy all the power of DirectX 12 games as soon as they are available.
[editline]20th March 2014[/editline] I mean that blogpost
That is wonderful. I just got a 290, I was pretty bummed at first.
DX11/12 comparison images
Holy shit, less than half the frame time? How can it be that much of an improvement
Holy shit, less than half the frame time? How can it be that much of an improvement
What? There is no FPS in those stats.
What? There is no FPS in those stats.
I assumed "Total CPU time" was frametime, was I mistaken?

Instead of one core being super high and others lazy everything is working together like chinese children making Nike shoes.
I assumed "Total CPU time" was frametime, was I mistaken?
Well but that's only the time CPU spends on it and doesn't include the time GPU needs, if I get this correctly. So basically CPU shouldn't bottleneck you nearly as much anymore, but if you are already getting bottlenecked by GPU, there will be little difference.
