Holy fuck I need this. Made by Arrowhead Games Studio, they made Magicka.

Meh, looks nothing like the classic.
well my dick is out
Never thought I'd see a remake of Gauntlet but damn if I'm not excited.
And it's also supposedly for SteamOS. I remember many good times at the theater trying to progress in Gauntlet Legends. Shame MAME requires a beefy processor to run it.

You... what? Uh, I ran MAME32 on a Pentium 3 back in the day.

It's been what, 10-20 years since the first Gauntlet? I'm fairly certain we've made considerable leaps towards higher technology since then as well as change in enjoyable gameplay.
I've not seen such bravery

We're talking Gauntlet Legends on MAME, right? The 3D arcade version? Well technically it can run, just not at a decently playable frame rate. Falls under the "Can run but needs good processor" category, like some NFL games.
The Gauntlet series is still my all-time favorite arcade series (alongside Metal Slug).
One of my most vivid memories is going to Fuddruckers with my second oldest brother and playing Gauntlet in their arcade.

No, I meant the original Gauntlets. I forgot the 3D one hit cabs.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Didn't see that coming.
remember that guy you saw on the gauntlet legends machine in the arcades that would play through the entire game on one life without spending more money and not allowing other people to join?
that was me.
This gauntlet?

I used to play Gauntlet Dark Legacy at a friend's house when I was younger, I'm always a little disappointed when the recent Gauntlet's only have the four original heroes.
it better have epic narration and ridiculous sfx like this

"AVOID DANGEROUS OBJECTS"
ok, thanks
*chest explodes after opening*:
"SOME CHESTS MAY EXPLODE WHEN OPENED"
i can see that
"USE KEY TO OPEN TREASURE CHESTS"
wtf else would i use

It's was meant to be played in arcades,
I've seen people walk up to chests thinking you didn't need a key
In fact it was a correct decision to not hide such things from someone who wants to pick up the game.
More people would find it dumb there wasn't effort in telling you how the important mechanics worked
when you're life drained away (gantlet legends had an option for counting down your health so you could put in more quarters and not turtle your way to success).
Looks like every generic medieval video game out there right now. And thanks for just calling it "Gauntlet". Now if I want to search for anything about the game Gauntlet, I have make sure I'm not looking for the remake.
Who keeps putting shitheads in charge of naming remakes nowadays.

Uh what did you expect, it's a remake of gauntlet, which kind of helped define the generic medieval video game

i just found it hilariously informative especially with the tone
HOLD UP. Where's the motherfucking Jester?
It looks too...open? I don't know, maybe it's just me.
I used to have so much fun getting my friends together to play this for N64. Praying this doesn't disappoint.

he'd of hogged all the food
Remake? You mean reboot?
Anyway looks good, will buy. Probably.
Looks awesome!
I'm surprised they didn't include the Death in the trailer.
Looks wicked fun, Arrowhead is the perfect studio for this.
It looks a lot like Diablo meets Heavy Rain. I dunno, if it turns out to be slightly MOBA-like, I won't complain, but I will admit seeing melee in Gauntlet is a little odd.
