(CNN) – Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg will host a fundraiser for New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie's re-election bid, a Christie finance source confirmed Thursday. The event will take place February 13 at the young billionaire's home in Palo Alto, California. A Facebook spokeswoman said Zuckerberg appreciates education reform efforts made in New Jersey. "Mark and (his wife) Priscilla have worked closely with Governor Christie on education reform in the Newark school system," Sarah Feinberg said. "They admire his leadership on education reform and other issues and look forward to continuing their important work together on behalf of Newark's school children. Mark and Priscilla are happy to host him at their home to support his re-election."
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/24/zuckerberg-to-fundraise-for-christie/
this is pretty big news [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] like, huge
I support the guy, One of the best Governors we have across the states in my opinion. I don't enjoy Cuomo so much.
Well Fuck you too Zuckerberg. or maybe....
Christie is a good guy, a rather progressive Republican. Last election, Republicans begged him to run for President, but he told them that his obligation was to his state. If I was forced to vote for any Republican, it'd definitely be him. I certainly don't mind Zuckerberg helping fund his campaign if it results in him paving the way for reform within his own party into a more young, liberal group.
I'm not into politics but I like this guy's personality.
Chris Christie looks like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. He's got my vote.

I have such conflicting feelings about Christie. I don't know who the real Christie is, like I want an interview with the guy and I want his full shpeal on everything he believes in, because I'm calling it now, he's running in 2016.

The thing that really separates him is that everyone in NJ Knows Chris Christie, He makes himself known cause he is personal with New Jersey. I could go around my block and guarantee less then half of the population wouldn't know Andrew Cuomo not cause of the education around here but just because he only comes out when people are super angry at him. Ex-Being: He stepped out and cursed Con-Ed and promised to follow through with massive fines, A week later he stopped mentioning it and Con-Ed just released a 4% bill increase across everyone. He is constantly behind the scenes or hiding about sandy relief funds. I've visited the tents on LI, It's fucking depressing one of the best states in our country and richest and we can't handle our own citizens. Chris Christie is still going after Sandy Funding and keeping everyone updated, He refuses to give up and everytime I hear about the damn guy it's always something good or I'll support. He isn't a republican as classified today, He's Chris Christie. I know more about New Jerseys current standings and issues then New York because trying to find what's going on internally between the Local to State and State to Federal level in New York requires digging through party information or belonging to a party or just digging so deep you might as well go to china.
Christie will get reelected. He hasn't broken a leg yet.
I'd honestly like to see him run in 2016
Imagine the contest with him and Hillary Clinton. Assuming their health keeps up for them both, that would be a hell of a contest. Otherwise, he's one of the best governor's in the country right now. He'd be just as well to stay that way.
I'm not sure how I feel about this guy. I mean before the hurricane he seemed like kind of a loudmouth rambling asshat. But then the hurricane hit and he took off the "asshole" fleece and put on the "lets not fuck up anymore" fleece.

Don't know why the day after the election everyone hoppers onto 2016

Say what you want about him, but he has to take such a stance to govern such a ... lovely state. From the perspective of a native New Jerseyan he's certainly handled matters as well as one could hope, aside from that whole unfortunate gay marriage debacle. But he's one of the few Republicans I could get behind and if he ran for president I wouldn't be surprised if you saw New Jersey go red for the election.
christ christie? :v:
christ christie? :v:
Oh god, I only just now realized the typo there. He is the messiah of the GOP :v:
Corporate bribery.
Corporate bribery.
Zuckerberg is a billionaire, dude.
Corporate bribery.
Welcome to US politics. Bribery is pretty much rampant in every area where it is legal.
Zuckerberg is a billionaire, dude.
Oh that changes everything then! It's totally okay for the creator of Facebook (which is a corporation) to give lots of dosh to a politician! Nothing wrong with that at all, it's k because he's a billionaire, not like he could have any motives or anything because he's rich as shit. Narrowly avoided something terrible there.
