• Good foreign movies?

Anyone know any good foreign movies? Preferably ones that just have subtitles as opposed to dubs. I've seen both [REC]s, Oldboy, The Butcher, and a few others I can't remember. Preferably action\horror movies.
Let The Right One In
Man Bites Dog (C'est Arrive Pres De Chez Vous)
Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno) The Devils Backbone, same guy that made pan's labyrinth, as well as hellboy and upcoming hobbit movies.

I heard White Ribbon was good.
Do you mind any Eastern Asian movies?
As long as they're watchable I don't see why not. I prefer live action over animated though unless it's really worth watching it.
If you can handle movies from the 50s "Seven Samurai" is great. It's said to be one of the best movies ever.
Downfall, Run Lola Run, Joyeux Noel. All three are great films. Not too sure if Joyeux Noel is considered a foreign film though.
pans labyrinth let the right one in oldboy
Anything by Lars Von Trier? Pusher Trilogy? Never actually seen any myself but they're supposed to be good. Dunno.
Oh, lemme see. All of the Kurosawa stuff(Rashoman, Seven Samurai etc...), all of Tarkovsky's shit(Stalker, Solaris etc...), I personally like Ingmar Bergman's stuff but that's just me. And if actual culture is opposite your taste, then just watch Kops.
I liked Delicatessen and Fateless.

tali ihantala
Le roi et l'oiseau (the king and the bird)
Dark Blue world (tmavomodry svet) Rennaisance These two sort of come to my mind.
The Triplets of Bellville
Movies that are in a different language than english? Kops (swe) Frostbiten (Frostbite)(swe) Beck (A lot of movies in this title)(swe) Wallander (Same as Beck, a lot of titles here)(swe) Taxi 1, Taxi 2 and maybe Taxi 3 (fr) Leon (fr) Wasabi (fr) There's a lot more if you just lurk em all out, but these were the ones I could get on top of my head at the moment. I know more titles, but I'm not sure if they have english subs. [editline]12:43PM[/editline] Ok I didn't read that you prefered horror, but these should have action. Possibly action comedy, but still action.
Goodbye Lenin Ashes and Diamonds (Good if you're into noir-films)
There's Roy Anderssons movies, for example "Songs from the Second Floor" or "You, Living". Also there's "The Man on the Roof". All Swedish movies. Spaniard Pedro Almodóvar has made a lot of good movies. "All About My Mother", "Talk to Her", "Bad Education" and "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" are all very good. "Mongol" (Mongolia), "The Host" (South Korea), "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (China), "Hero" (China), "Red Cliff" (China), "The Last Emperor" (China) "Yojimbo" (Japan), "The Shadow Warrior" (Japan) and "Ran" (Japan) are some of the gems from eastern Asia. And now I realized you asked for action or horror. Well, basically all of the Asian movies I wrote down are epic action movies. The "Ju-On"-movies are pretty good horror flicks. Don't watch the American remakes ("The Grudge" 1 and 2) since they suck. "The Orphanage" is another suggestion.
Max Manus
tali ihantala
This one and Etulinjan Edessä (by the same finnish director btw) are two must-see if you're into war movies that aren't filled with hollywood-drama and unrealism.
Taxi (Not the shitty american remake)
Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno) The Devils Backbone, same guy that made pan's labyrinth, as well as hellboy and upcoming hobbit movies.
And an H.P Lovecraft movie and a darker Pinocchio remake.
Taxi 1,2,3,4 were amazing. District B13 was good too.
