Uhhh hi
I decided to stop posting my stuff in the nonspecific art thread because I don't think that's actually what it's for and also a topic all about me sounded pretty cool
If you are unaware, most of my pictures I draw for this cool forum here where people fight each other with comic strips. It's sort of sad really but I enjoy it.
I'm not telling you to join or anything (although you can if you want to) but my stuff really makes more sense in context like that.
This is the point where I'd say it's ok that I'm reposting stuff from there because nobody from there but Rety and Spud post here anyway but last time I did that they all appeared just in order to prove me wrong even though I'd never seen them post before, the fiends.
Right so I've got four months of backlog to post so I hope you like reading and/or loading images.
I joined SPB about four months ago (I was damn suprised to learn this, it's gone so fast I wouldn't have put it at more than two months) and up until then hadn't actually drawn anything on a computer for a good five years or more. I thought I'd be pretty crap actually, and maybe I was! Here was my first posted image:

About one month later I'd moved onto this:

And my most recent picture I've drawn is an updated version that looks like this:

I think what I am trying to say is that though I am not perfect yet, it just goes to show that anyone can get good pretty quickly if they get over their fear of failing and try. I mean I don't know what you think but I can see a pretty marked improvement through those three iterations ;)
Now like I said earlier, most of the stuff I draw for SPB and that means it's in the form of comics, and for the sake of convenience drawing nine panels I tended to draw most of them as stick people or with at least reduced effort and just spend a lot of time on one or two panels, so it would be a little foolish to link all of them here because 80% of what you saw wouldn't be worth seeing, so what I think I'll do is post the only two I can find where there was effort in all the panels (and only because there were only two panels!) and then a massive image montage of stuff from December.
More recently I've started being a little more proactive and actually drawing every panel properly so maybe you'll see some full ones in later posts. We'll see.

Those were both from Novemeber.

This is my December image collage. Can I thumbnail images or something? I forget how to do that.

Here's a random picture of a guy I forgot to put on the collage, I think it's also from December but I'm not sure.

This is the most recent SPB strip I've drawn, and you may well have already seen it.
Pretty pleased with how this came out, I'd not even tried a full effort comic before let alone one with an actual background (laziness means that almost all SPB fights take place in a featureless white void originally named... The White Void)
Aaand... that's about it.
A little shorter than I expected really.
For completeness' sake here's my most recent image again even though it's at the top of the page!

I also make sprites for a board called Picture Wars and also it's less cool (but healthier) cousin, Facepunch's very own Pixel Wars, but I think I'll post those later.
Spritesheets look boring on their own so I'd have to pose them in some way and I can't be bothered right now ;)
Ok you can reply now (or not, if you really don't want to)
I see you're participating in the no-lines movement :v:
I also love the idea you're creating certain characters and doing different drawings of them :)
Why are so many PW players doing art dumps?!
Your.
Art.
Is.
Awesome.
I love your style Metal :3:
I don't think I'll ever understand what's going on in that twisted mind of yours, Chao. But the fruits of its labor are delicious. Good work.
Art style is as awesome as always Metal.
I haven't drawn anything else worth posting yet so here are those sprites, in no particular order

Tiny versions + Bug men
Love the space mummies (Aren't they called Black Temple or something?)
Your art style is great.
Once again this is unlikely to make any sense to you as it is completely divorced from context but hopefully you can enjoy the pretty pictures

Also a magnemite, among the easiest of all pokemon to draw

I swear to God that's a screw, not a head-penis
your anatomy would be helped greatly if you drew a frame stick figure before you stard drawing the body, right now they seem almost ragdoll-like
I do that but then generally I completely ignore the stick figure and draw about thirty pixels to the left of it
It's kind of a waste of time, I should probably try doing it properly
You really should work on your anatomy, it's always the same hunched pose and always a messed up centre of gravity.
Take an order at nyaas ms paint competition, the place isn't open no longer but the tips and pictures are all there.
It's time you abandon your characters and test your wings on human characters, it will also help you with realistic shading.
There is no excuse to learn human anatomy since it teaches you all the skills you need for any style you're going after, you may not want to draw realistic later on BUT you have to know how to draw realistic before you can draw unrealistic.
You gotta know how something works before you can break it properly :)
I haven't been very productive recently but I did make a couple of avatars

This is the one I use most places and would use here if I was gold :V

Made this one just today because I got promoted to admin on some other site B)
Of course I didn't animate them in paint, but I drew all the frames
If you're some kind of PURIST FREAK then here's all the stuff made just with paint and not using GIMP:

I also drew this thing for the PW Forums, it's like a teaser image for some event we're doing

I think 20 hours might break my automerge 0:
Metal, i take alot of inspiration from your work, especially in PW.
Looking at that Super Paint Brawl thing as well, looks fun.
Fantastically weird. I knew you were good but, damn.
Have I improved on my anatomy? Well not conciously no so I sort of doubt it

I'll get on that eventually, I'm just juggling too many hot irons right now and I'm sort of happy enough with where I am not to start working on that just yet
It is something I mean to do, drawing better is always nice, but it's not incredibly high on my priority list I have to admit
anyway the next step is probably to stop drawing everyone from the same angle
preparing for our duel to the death i see
You're pretty good.
You inspire me, and I hope someday I get to be as good as you are.
