-- PSY: "Gentleman" plummets 5-26 on the Hot 100; it debuted at No. 12 two weeks ago, powered by initial online buzz for its video. The song falls 1-6 after two weeks atop Streaming Songs (4.7 million U.S. streams, down 66%, according to Nielsen BDS), notably even ranking below his breakout hit from last year, "Gangnam Style," which holds at No. 3 on Streaming Songs (5.3 million, down 22%). ("Gentleman" is now up to 253 million YouTube views worldwide [as of this posting]; the Hot 100, however, includes only U.S. views each week.)

Also if anyone cares, Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' went up to the 14th position.
its shit
It was literally the same goddamn song again only ever so slightly different sounding.
it's not bad
I haven't even heard it
This isn't even news.
I don't know why everyone has such high expectations for PSY when even he himself said that he knows nothing will surpass Gangam Style.
Like it or not, being in top 25 let alone being on Bilboard top 100 is a huge success for anyone.

so you know what the song is
It's a pretty good song in my opinion. But my opinion can be shit for all I know.
It really wasn't great.
Not nearly as memorable as gangnam style, which really was a one hit wonder.
Saying this shit is news is like saying "Valve added more hats to TF2" is news:
Nobody really cares and the subject is getting old
Down 4 in the UK chart to number 18
didn't even touch the triple j 100 hit list, get lucky got number 1 tho on it so i was happy
Music was average. Music video was hilarious.
This is news because...
Uhh, Psy never made good music. It's just lazy pop-shit. Same with most of the high rankers on the billboards. So I don't see this as a big surprise that his charm is dwindling, you have to constantly be churning out pop shit in order to stay on top. His popularity was just due to a viral video, which to be honest wasn't very special, it was just wacky randum.
I care more that Get Lucky is 14th.
But really, nothing should make anyone think that his most recent single will be anywhere NEAR as popular as his first. Gangnam Style was immensely popular. It will be a hard act to immitate.

go home grandad you're drunk again
It lacks the 'vibe' Gangnam Style had. But maybe the next one will be good again.
I mean you gotta have some lows to make the highs better.

You remind me of my 13 year old self.

"Right Now" is awesome and you know it.
its shit
it's always been shit.
gangam style is annoying dumb shit too
Im 13 or a cynical shit because I dislike most pop music these days. Pretty basic reaction from most people on facepunch it seems, just jump straight to the hipster label, or 13 year old if I genuinely think a popular song(s) is shit.
I am just being honest with myself. No heart goes into any of that shit, it's just for money and pop music will ALWAYS be that first. I am never going to respect any of that shit. Sometimes a genuinely decent song will slip into the high ranking charts, but it's rare, and gangnam style was not an example of that.
Call me a hipster or a 13 year old, I don't care I have heard that shit from all of my life for actually staying true to what I enjoy and being pissed at what I think is backwards pull on creativity in the musical art form. I used to quietly accept it and hold back my opinion, but I am seriously getting annoyed at the music industry. I have had it up to my wits end.

He could literally be singing about toilets and shit and you wouldn't even know.

Honestly why do people still think things like this, all genres have good music in them and you'd have to be stupid to completely reject any singular genre for any reason. All genres are fine.
pop music is often quite enjoyable and gentleman was fun enough if you're into that sort of thing, so who cares
The music video is really the only good part of the song

Alright Debby no need to be such a downer.
Alright Debby no need to be such a downer.
Honestly, I think this is more of a case of Nancy being negative than Debby being a downer.

Yoiu're getting dumbs because you assumed this is all PSY has made. He is a well established artist that's been known in South Korea for years before Gangnam - and his other music isn't mass market frivolity.
I don't have time to go find sources, but in an interview PSY stated he made Gangnam because he wanted to lighten up a South Korea that was having a rough time with the current economy - it just so happened that it worked on an international level.
As for Gentleman, well you try appeasing billions that want more of the same after your one off went massive :v:
