A massive water line break sent a geyser shooting into the air and turned busy Sunset Boulevard into a raging river that roared down the thoroughfare and flooded the nearby UCLA campus.
The water trapped at least three people in cars, flooded underground parking lots on the UCLA campus and sent a dramatic cascade pouring down the stairs into Pauley Pavilion, according to officials and television news footage.
The water was also flooding campus athletic fields, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The water main ruptured shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the 10600 block of Sunset Boulevard, fire officials said.
Sunset Boulevard was closed in both directions from Marymount Place to Westwood Plaza, complicating the rush-hour commute for scores of drivers.
Water was as high as wheel wells shortly after the flooding began, and vehicles were stranded in parking structures. The LAFD assisted three motorists.
There is a possible need for local evacuations, according to the LAFD.
When it was open someone was trying to slide down it with a cardboard box,
and another girl was being pulled on a boogie board through the water

Biggest drought in California history, awwwww yeeeeaaaa
Kinda ironic since the state just instituted water rationing policies, good job blowing LA's allotment in one day nerds!
Reminds me of what happened at my school a while back

Unfortunately it was during the Winter so it was cold as balls and it started to freeze when night fell.
I'd grab a kayak, and slide down there for shits'n'giggles.

It's a very serious drought. Our hills which used to be green and rival the XP background for beauty have been brown for a long time and the saltmarshes I used to be afraid of falling into as a kid have dried up and it turns out they weren't deep at all
hey, that's my school!

-HIGHFIVE-
Yeah, I don't have summer classes either right now. I was down there earlier when it was still opened and was laughing my ass off at it going down the stairs.
