i only know one person who owns a vita, it's kind of sad that it never took off. it's a great platform for mobile jrpgs, and you'd think there'd be a bigger market!
geez now I wonder where all the anime games will be going to
What a shocker.
Watch it continue to survive for years because of third-party support, the fanbase's extremely high attach rate and the niche it found. Really, Sony's been trying to indirectly kill Vita for years and they still haven't succeeded.

I'd buy one but I'm not spending $60 just for a 32 GB memory card
I don't believe it. I only got a vita this year.
I'll be laughing if they stop fixing the exploits in the firmware, the machine finally gets cracked and the hardware sales go up twofold.

This thing will live forever. [editline]23rd October 2015[/editline]
Nintendo DS platform.
I hope so. I've found the selection over there less than stellar, but the backwards compatibility makes up for it.
It's a shame Sony doesn't care for the Vita, some of the titles are... golden
I still love the Vita. I hope the third party support lives on for a good chunk of years
I still love my Vita. It's served me well.
I just don't understand how Sony could of fucked up so bad. The PSP was rock solid. The game selection was huge and there were tons of accessories. Mind you the MS Duo cards were not cheap but otherwise they were great. Nothing they've made since came to being anywhere as close.
post PS Vita usernames and make FP Vita group? keep the flame aliveeee
post PS Vita usernames and make FP Vita group? keep the flame aliveeee
Omega_Xis210 is my PSN
Well, I mean, they never fixed the problems of proprietary hardware and stuff.
Get developers to develop for the actual platform, not just port shit. Don't force people to buy overpriced memory sticks. Make battery life actually feasible. That's literally all they'd really need to make it take off.
geez now I wonder where all the anime games will be going to
Steam.
Steam.
PC won't be japan's main choice for a looong time
PC won't be japan's main choice for a looong time
Actually, there's already some Japanese games on Steam
Maybe they'll finally stop patching all homebrew attempts and allow people to homebrew things. That's what kept PSP alive. Hell, I could play N64 on mine.
Actually, there's already some Japanese games on Steam
yeah, some like, less than 1%, though
yeah, some like, less than 1%, though
Better than nothing. At least they've realized that there's a PC Market.
This is what happens when you make probably the most solid (hardware and OS wise) handheld platform of all time, and then don't release anything worthwhile on it for almost 2 years. Games make consoles, but I'm glad that the indie and Japanese game crowds have found a perfect platform for them

The Vita would've done well too but they locked down the phone so hard people couldn't crack it reliably and so the homebrew scene didn't go anywhere.
great, now leave the market share to suped up gaming phones with built in graphics cards coming in 2019
