IMO while having someone yell 'dont skip omg' is kind of a novelty at the moment and I usually [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8o5fxnDUjs]respond positively to seeing it[/url], its use is intensifying to the point where we may not be able to contain it, and it's going to become very annoying very quickly if it becomes any more commonplace. But I always find it kind of dumb when an ad just shows a static logo or something for the first few seconds. Here's an example of an advertiser who still doesn't get it:

No one is ever going to watch that ad all the way through.

There's this one fucking ad that's something to do with Mini cars that pisses me off by playing this loud as shit tune and telling me not to skip it, I skip it on purpose. Otherwise if an ad is about 30 seconds or so I'll just watch it - maybe it'll be interesting. Once I've seen an ad once I skip everytime though.

I don't think I ever found it endearing. the first time I saw an advert telling me not to skip it I think I went "haha, nice" and skipped it. trailers which attempt to give you an actual, intriguing reason not to skip them in the first five seconds are infinitely better than pleading

I've heard advertisement's off radios and tv's for ages telling me "Don't you dare touch that dial". I just think over the years it's been refined just to try keep people on their toes with an advertisement. I'll be honest it does work some of the time but once everybody starts playing the same trick, no one is actually going to listen eventually.

I watched TV for the first time in months the other day and I was astonished by the number of advertisements. Having Adblock and using Netflix instead of cable made me realize how little I see ads and how many ads there are everywhere.
