[release]The Florida Senate is trying once again to make it a crime to have sex with animals. The Senate unanimously passed SB104 Monday that would make bestiality a first-degree misdemeanor with a maximum punishment of up to a year in jail.
The Senate bill was sponsored by state Senator Nan Rich of Weston who has tried for years to get the law on the books. Florida has become a punch line for many jokes due to its lack of bestiality law.
The state Senate passed a similar bill last year, but it died in the House before being presented. A similar bill is contained in a House bill that has not yet been debated on the floor.
According to the National Humane Society, studies have suggested a direct link between sexual assault of animals and sex crimes against humans.

The furry lobby must be up in arms.
Now if only everyone was that smart.
Florida's made quite an ass of itself
How can this even be legal when animals can't give consent?
It's rape no matter what.
Again? I find the idea of it not going through a first time hilarious.
This is disgusting. It should already be banned.
Looks like some higher-ups don't want this passed..haha
mmm, Horse dick.

By this logic, all farm workers are: murderers, slave masters(pet owners would be this too), etc etc, I think anything with an animal should be acceptable unless you can demonstrate that it's in distress; we make animals do all kinds of socially acceptable things that if applied to humans would be retarded: Like keeping birds in cages or other small enclosures, taking animals away from their parents and siblings because someone wishes to buy it, forcing them to wear stupid clothes etc. This is because these animals aren't Humans, thus we cannot apply the same rights to them, 'rape' is no different.

To assume Furries are Beastialists or Zoophiles is a dumb assumption.

Try prying a dogs mouth open, generally it'll get pissed at you and try to bite you.
The dog was unconsenting for you to open it's mouth.
Same thing applies in a sexual sense. However many animals can still experience and enjoy sexual interaction.
Consent doesn't have to be spoken. How often do couples engage in sex without even a suggestion of "Do you want to have sex?".
its not illegal to do animals in florida
its not illegal to do animals in florida
It's also not illegal in brazil either, or several other countries for that matter.

so anyone in my neighborhood could be fucking an animal right now
so anyone in my neighborhood could be fucking an animal right now
They could be doing it in any country. Making something illegal doesn't stop someone doing something, it just places a penalty on getting caught.

oh god
oh god
You can say oh god, but the statement can be put to any crime. Piracy, paedophilia, murder.
(I'm not calling piracy equal to paedophilia, I'm just pointing out that laws are a deterrant rather than an actual prevention)

Animals are pretty good at making people stop doing something if they don't like it

It's a very thin line and disgusting.
Also, my state is all kinds of fucked up, yet I still can't see myself living anywhere else.

That is the greatest thing I have ever read
