A controversial child protection chief has quit her job with a six-figure payoff – only to be immediately rehired on almost £1,000 a day.
Deputy children’s commissioner Sue Berelowitz, who was criticised for failing to speak out about sexual abuse by British Pakistani gangs, took voluntary redundancy from her £99,333-a-year post on April 30.
She received a pay-off worth £134,000. But the next day she was rehired as a consultant, leading an inquiry into family child abuse that she had been in charge of in her former role.
The 61-year-old will be paid £960 a day under the new deal and will work for up to nine days a month. It means she will earn almost the same amount as she had been as a full-time employee – for much less work.
I wanna be rewarded for my mistakes, too
That's corrupt.
Fucking fire her and the people who rehired her.
Okay, so she voluntarily quit her job in disgrace after massively failing, and she gets a severance payout of basically a quarter million dollars (almost $255k CDN exactly) and then gets rehired part-time at a substantial raise?
How much money is going to the victims? I bet they each get substantially less if anything at all other than an apology (by the organization that rehired the one who failed them).
Sometimes, I wish there actually was a Hell.
This is quite the satirical parody material.
According to the Telegraph (the only other source I can find),
Under current civil service guidelines, there are restrictions on the amounts which should be paid, except in "rare" and "exceptional circumstances".
The Office of the Children’s Commissioner, which awarded Mrs Berelowitz almost twice the sum she was entitled to under the guidance, said the “special severance payment” had been made because her job had “ceased to exist”.
Interesting that of those three sources, you picked the headline from the Breitbart article...
It's just crazy that things like this can be allowed to happen.
High profile jobs actually seem to land the person in a better financial position when they have to leave a job for misconduct, it's all backwards
Interesting that of those three sources, you picked the headline from the Breitbart article...
Doesn't make it any less true, does it?
Interesting that of those three sources, you picked the headline from the Breitbart article...
All of them are pretty similar, and the dailymail one sounds worse by far. Actually the more moderate of the three.

I'll admit to not being a UK resident, but as far as I was following the story, it was:
- Series of police fuck ups in investigations of rape victims
- Police blame "political correctness gone mad" to cover for themselves
- Others call them out on that being bullshit
- Racists use case to say "yer pakis are all molesters" and "political correctness has gone mad!!!"
So the fact that it's using a headline from a right-wing rag that explicitly refers to "pakistani rape gangs" kind of rubs me the wrong way

The text of the Breitbart article doesn't have any mention of blaming political correctness for that incident, so why do you bring it up? And the article also doesn't state that all "Pakis" (The article doesn't even call them by that racial slur) are rapists or in gangs. It just states that the groups involved in these criminal activities happen to be mainly of pakistani origin. Is mentioning that racist now? It doesn't even say "pakistani rape gangs" but
She caused anger in 2012 when she wrote a report denying there was a growing number of Pakistani grooming gangs in Rochdale and Rotherham, insisting that abuse was carried out by men of all backgrounds. However, an independent inquiry later found that at least 1,400 children in Rotherham had been abused by man of mainly Pakistani descent between 1997 and 2013.
No where does it state what you state. This is the Breitbart article, which I didn't even post, was just added as another link. Would you want me to remove the link even if the stuff you listed isn't even included in the whole article?
Let's see with the other links.

That is from The Times. It mentions that they are coming from Pakistan. Is The Times suddenly a right wing rag, too?
Why are you going off topic anyway, the focus lies on how someone who fucked up leaves voluntarily, taking a large sum with her, only to come back and get paid nearly 1000 pounds per day. That is 365000 pounds in a year. And that is working at maximum 9 days a month.
If that isn't corruption, wtf else is.

yes indeed. ethnic tensions were a very minor part of the police work that went into the case, with the disdain child protective services had for their charges being a massive (and massively ignored) part of why it went so sour, and also why government authorities tried to cover it up - because that would involve actually doing something useful instead of frothing at the mouth over those fuckin pakis like everyone does when they get their Mail on Sunday.
funny that the media isn't pushing nearly as much about the british rape gang coverup instigated by the police and high echelons of the government, nor the political (possibly literal, if you catch my drift) suicide involved with speaking up about it. almost as if this isn't actually an attempt to paragon free speech but instead to push an anti-immigration narrative while also avoiding police culpability
"Why did Labour lose the election"
You know, some days I wish I was a corrupt, horrible person so that I could get a better job.
Then I remember I'm not a subhuman and have respect and care for people.

All pakis are not molesters, but political correctness surely has gone mad.

What if you'd listen to advice from all the corrupt shitheads on how to get employed and then actually do a good job? :v:
Unless it is that path of corruption that erodes ones goodwill.
All pakis are not molesters, but political correctness surely has gone mad.
the funny thing is you're right, but the only political correctness here is people talking about the MASSIVE GANGS OF PAKISTANI RAPISTS ROAMING THE LAND (!EXTRA! !EXTRA! !READ ALL ABOUT IT!) instead of actual concrete problems, like the numerous failings of the child protective services or the police corruption through which those failings were covered up - both of which were ultimately at the root of why it went as far as it did, much more so than any bleeding-heart lefties. it's blatantly obvious that there's no serious media interest in stopping this kind of thing happening again or exposing corruption, and if there is it couldn't possibly be any more misplaced.

I'll be honest: I didn't read the Breitbart article. Given their previous coverage of the same and similar incidents:
For years now, Muslim rape gangs in Britain have operated with impunity, preying upon non-Muslim girls while terrified authorities stood by and did nothing, for fear of being accused of “racism.”

Detective: Pakistani Muslims’ Mass Rapes of White British Girls Not ‘A Known Phenomenon’ ... A Serious Case Review examining childhood sexual abuse which took place in Oxfordshire, England concludes that the role of Pakistani Muslim men in the rape and torture of white British girls should become a topic of national investigation and concern.

Just look at the last par of that excerpt from the report, quoted above. A senior person on the council, Andy Couldrick, who was responsible for Children’s Services, is revealed to have prevented any action being taken to deal with the problem through a mixture of inertia and political correctness.
I just made an off-the cuff judgement, and assumed that it would be more "immigrants are rape ur women" garbage.
Though shouts out for the second article mentioning that the report was revised to no longer blame "political correctness". At least it isn't 100% garbage

Afaik sociopaths and psychopaths get further in business and government because they can focus entirely on themselves and their career without worrying about anyone else.

Interesting how social workers make 20,000 ish CND a year while the people that manage them always seem to get over 100,000 or more.
