COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -Colorado Springs Police say a 16-year-old runaway who checked into the Antlers Hilton Hotel with a stolen credit card was able to escape arrest by shimmying down the side of the hotel on a rope he made by tying sheets together.
Police were called to the hotel at 4 S. Cascade Ave. just after 1 a.m. on May 19, 2014.
Officers say the teen used a relative's credit card to book a room on the fourth floor of the hotel. The relative called police after learning about the fraudulent activity.
Police tried to contact the teen, but there was no response. Officers had to wait for a search warrant to force their way in.
When officers finally got into the room they discovered that the teen had used several bed sheets to shimmy his way down from the fourth floor room.
The Colorado equivalent of Kevin McCallister.
What a smooth criminal.
Catch me if you can was pretty great.

Wait, that's a thing? Not even the hotel staff can allow police to enter their own hotel room when there's a fugitive inside?

Movie or series?
Haven't seen the movie, maybe I really should...

As far as I know hotel rooms are treated the same as any other private domain, even if it is a temporary one. If the person inside doesn't give permission to let them enter, and the police don't have probable cause, they can't come in without a warrant.
I don't see the problem with that?
