Alestorm is pirate metal/Folk metal band from Perth Scotland. The band consists of 4 members Christopher Bowes - Vocals/Keytar Dani Evans - Guitar Gareth Murdock - Bass Guitar Ian Wilson - Drums http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q49slS1_vFc - Leviathan this is my favourite Alestorm song. What do you think of this band? The keytar and guitar work well together and it makes all of their songs sound pretty creative i think.
yeah, cool band. seen them live 3 times
yeah, cool band. seen them live 3 times
Where abouts did you see them?
A thread about these guys pops up every couple months. Stop it.
a tad gimmicky... I mean... pirate metal? It seems that people would just listen to them because it's weird, not because they actually like it
Slightly overhyped, but a good band nonetheless.
I think they're pretty awesome, they also remind me of Sabaton.
FUCK YEAH I LOVE SWASHBUCKLE :v: Okay so no one got this? [editline]06:04PM[/editline]
a tad gimmicky... I mean... pirate metal? People don't actually like alestorm *cough* *points to avatar* yeah cause theres not a single person who likes alestorm
what I meant is their image coming before their music
What image, it seems to me that they barely try, and they make pretty bitchin music, like Nancy the Tavern Wench
I like this band, especially Keelhauled. Great song.
Fuck yeah Alestorm, great music.
ALESTORM! ARRR!!! anyway... it's epic.
Alestorm will be remembered as the band that started Pirate Metal. Watch in this decade Pirate Metal become more mainstream.
Alestorm will be remembered as the band that started Pirate Metal. Watch in this decade Pirate Metal become more mainstream.
Actual, Verbal Deception started "pirate metal" back in 2002.
Actual, Verbal Deception started "pirate metal" back in 2002.
Actually, Running Wild started "Pirate Metal" back in 1987. They, if any, are the fathers of this controversial subgenre.
I love alestorm
Keelhauled mother fucker.
Love that song.
Keelhauled mother fucker.
nonononononono... It's "Filthy landlubber", not "Mother fucker".
nonononononono... It's "Filthy landlubber", not "Mother fucker".
Indeed
There is already a thread on them.
a tad gimmicky... I mean... pirate metal? Overdrive guitars, accordions and gruff pirate singers suddenly seem like they were made for eachother.
Where abouts did you see them?
First time graspop belgium Best show ever!! Epic... Crowdsurfing in inflateble boats and shit... epic.. 2th time somewhere in holland i forgot.. they played with TÝR, Horrible show.. they just kicked out the guitaris back then. 3th time at Bang your head festival in balingen germany , A OK show...
Remember, piracy is a crime yarrr
Great music, meh vocals.
a tad gimmicky... I mean... pirate metal? It seems that people would just listen to them because it's weird, not because they actually like it
To be honest, your right. That would attract people who consider it to be "AWSUM LOL" but they are actually really, really good.
Muafucka please, swashbuckle were around before Alestorm
Yeah but alestorm sounds more pirate than swashbuckle. Swashbuckle is more like thrash death pirate metal
I like them, their pretty good, Captain Morgan's Revenge would probably be my favorite album. I do agree that their over-hyped, but alas they are a good band.
