Is it really that bad to recognise that many of these crimes show a pattern of being committed by people of a certain demographic? The difference is how one uses that information, neglecting it is just as bad as using it to fuel racist rhetoric. Imo, controls on immigration need to be stringent enough to be fair to the people they're meant to integrate themselves with as well as they themselves, refugee crisis or no.

This only causes more tension and divide between citizens and government. The reason SD is gaining traction is because current government has proven utter incompetence in handling these cases. I think we can all agree that whilst people from countries in the middle east or africa are more likely to exhibit the comparatively shitty social/moral standards of their respective countries of origin that doesn't mean all should be automatically regarded as such, nor should they be given any leeway or covered up for in the event they decide to exhibit such behaviour against their fellow human beings. Those who don't change or conform to the standards of the country they take refuge in should be dragged aside and forced to do so, kicking and screaming need be, but otherwise stop bringing identity politics into this thread. I think that's up to debate, but realy I've seen some of those here on FP, and always ended up creating a shitstorm. One can say "If you don't like our rules, then fuck off", the other would say "This is not very civilized, we're better than this" in the end it's always the same story, over and over again.
