Hi
After the almost immediate success of this thread I figured I'd give it a shot aswell.
I am also working on a game right now and am in need of an artist. For the style of the game, it's orthographic projection, kind of like isometric but still remaining square, in some senses it's oblique but I still couldn't find the correct word for it, so I quickly did this picture to give you an idea of the kind of 2.5d look I'm going for. I sometimes work with 3d so I did this in 3ds max, so ignore the lighting and such, it won't be in the game.

The theme is somewhat domestic including floors, walls, furniture, people etc. I probably won't disclose the entire game plan so far until someone has been accepted.
I do value your input, this won't be me saying draw this, fix this etc. I would like to hear what you have to say about game mechanics and such.
So far I have some of the base engine in place, drawing and utilty functions etc.
I can't promise this won't end up a dead project. I personally hope it won't and I don't have anything intruding on it that I know of but alot of projects like these take alot to get off the ground and it simply might not happen.
I do plan to sell this game if it does get to a state near completion (no game is ever really finished, is it?) but as of right now I can't pay anything, so there may be some money in it, might not.
Soo yea, if you think this is an interesting offer, post something small you've done and we'll see where it goes from there. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in this thread, I check the creationism corner fairly often but if you're impatient I'm pretty much always on steam if I'm not asleep.
I prefer when Y is up
Golden Sun-esque camera positioning?
I never said Y wasn't up. It's just blue.
I once had someone tell me it was the "pokemon" look. It's usually depicted by the angles around the XYZ axes. In this case it's 90, 90, 180. Isometric is 120, 120, 120.
i could try, altho a few coice people on FP told me my art is "shit" or "not the best" :/ im working on it

Did you really rate that agree?
You are so very humble.

What a waste of time and money.
stuff.
what type of the style is the game going to be, if stylised at all?
As in cartoony, anime, pixel-ly
Sort of a mix between cartoony and pixel-y.
I've done all this

If you're still looking, I guess I could be of some help to you.
Here's something I did for a previous project:

Looks cool, kinda low res though, not really the style I'm going for. I assume you can do other work aswell though.
I added salmon and Zay on Steam if you'd like to help, your profile link doesn't work BinaryMouse.
Thanks guys.

I do most of my work with lines. I'll be happy to help you out.

And Jay, I knew that was your style!
its not a "style" its just me fooling around in a new medium.
If you want that kind of perspective on objects, I realize I should probably show you this Zombie Survival game I made with my programmer friend rayboy1995.

Here's the sprite sheet for the world textues:

Unless I'm mistaken, this is the kind of perspective you're going for.
I create sprites for fun, so it would be a neat to get some use to them. Some stuff made by me:

No, he said he's going for orthographic projection which is basically this:
Wow those sprites are fantastic!
Actually, orthographic just means that the projection planes are parrerel, stuff doesn't get bigger or smaller when it moves closer or further away. The one in that picture is usually known as Isometric, where if you have a representation of axes, they're the same distance apart. The angle I was going for is 45 degrees on the y axis, so half way between side-on and top-down.

I feel I should point out this isn't in any way a war-based game, most the sprites involved will probably be people, food and furniture.
Not entirely sure what's happening here, salmon is the only one who actually replied and I haven't heard from him since.
Game looks kinda dippy atm.
