Police in Seattle are investigating how an assault rifle was left resting atop a police car - unattended. The man who took the photo of the strange scene had to flag down two bicycle officers to alert the police department. Sean Whitcomb, of the Seattle Police Department, called the situation "very embarrassing" and they have issued a chain-of-command investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
Semi-auto Surprise.
With that kind of headline you could make a GTA mission out of this story, shit.
So that's where I put it.
One word: Derp.

So the cop just left his AR-15 on the back of his cruiser like that? How are people that are so careless allowed to join the police force?
Who the hell leaves ANY gun on top their car in the first place?
What an idiot cop, someone could have took it.

AR-15, not an M-4
Why did he take it out in the first place?

To the person who rated dumb. Assault rifles need to have different select fires and must fit other requirements. The AR-15 does not.

Actually, according to them it's an AR-15.
But I imagine there would've been very serious consequences if someone mentally unstable was walking down the street pissed off at some fellows at work, and spots the gun.
Why did he take it out in the first place?
Don't know. Maybe the cop was moving it from the trunk to a better spot in the car, but then he really needed to take a shit.
Who says it's a cop's weapon? Some dude could have left it there - like a horses head, except on the guys police car.

My mistake, I didn't watch the video.

It's sad when that truly seems like the most plausible situation.
oh god i live near seattle
I bet its unloaded and they're waiting for someone to pick it up, watching.
No ones that stupid... right?
oh god i live near seattle
Watch out, that unattended assault rifle might come and get you.
Why did he take it out in the first place?
to put it on the trunk
i bet he had the badge in one hand and the gun in another and was about to arrest some dude but then he was raptured and dropped both items on the trunk
Not gonna lie, I would take that thing.
Not gonna lie, I would take that thing.
and just walk home with an AR-15 in your hands? okay
Not gonna lie, I would take that thing.
Yeah I bet you'd love that felony weapons charge when the rear dash cam catches you and the serial number is listed as a hot firearm. I hope it was worth it for a $800 gun.
Or you know, all the witnesses trying to contact the police.
I'm ashamed this happened 30 minutes from my house
-snip-
Not gonna lie, I would take that thing.
and you'd be taking it in the butt in prison.
and just walk home with an AR-15 in your hands? okay
Well this is why you go everywhere with a big jumper so you can hide things up it.
