Military Bases, U.S. Army, Marine, Navy and Coast Guard property are gun free zones. The guards carry weapons but they have no magazines. Anyone entering the Pentagon has their weapon confiscated at security before they proceed, same for almost all government buildings like this. Now that they're in Code Red they most likely have issued security weapons, but had they not caught the guy response would be up to the local police.
