Thousands of dead prawns have washed up on a beach in Chile, sparking an investigation.
Hundreds of dead crabs were also washed ashore in Coronel city, about 530km (330 miles) from the capital, Santiago.
Fishermen suggested the deaths may have been caused by local power stations that use seawater as a cooling agent. The power firms have not commented.
Experts are looking into water temperature and oxygen levels and other details to explain the deaths.
I am chilean, and I can confirm that reaction.
Holy carp
my fetish of rolling my body around in dead sea crustaceans on a public beach checked off my bucket list
I had a dream about killing prawns last night, perhaps it wasn't a dream after all.....................

I'm argentinian, and I can assure you this is some evil plot by those brit-sympathizers to get electronics at even cheaper tax rates or something
Cthulu must've ripped one.

Clearly a declaration of war from Peru, Bolivia or Argentina.

They can always toss them back into the ocean to feed other organisms or grind them up into fertilizer
A little butter and this mess will be cleaned up in no time.
maybe a ton of copper got into the water?
I hope there are some crabs in the beach of my town. If they are, i'll posts pics.
I will roll in crabs.

Considering all of the amount of waste that's caused on the purification and creation of copper around here, I wouldn't be surprised if they thought that throwing some (if not all) of it to the sea would be a "good idea"
