• ISIS planning 'mass casualty' terror attacks in UK, head of MI5 warns
Isis has attempted six mass casualty terrorist attacks in the UK in the last year and will continue to plan more, the head of M15 has warned. In a speech in London, Andrew Parker said the country’s intelligence services are now engaged in tackling a “three-dimensional threat” – at home, overseas and online – and that the “scale and tempo” of the danger is at a level not seen in his 32-year career. “More than 750 extremists from this country have travelled to Syria, and the growth in the threat shows no sign of abating,” he said. Referring to the six thwarted attempts on British soil in the past 12 months, he said: “It may not yet have reached the high water mark and, despite the successes we have had, we can never be confident of stopping everything.”
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/isis-planning-mass-casualty-terror-attacks-in-britain-head-of-mi5-warns-a6712946.html

Those bastards from the third dimension again.
They're gonna try flying a plane into the Big Ben?
That would suck major balls to be honest
The government constantly tells us we are under constant threat, this type of news doesn't really effect me anymore. They keep moving the threat level up and down too.
Nine Eyes will save us.
The government constantly tells us we are under constant threat, this type of news doesn't really effect me anymore.
The government constantly tells us we are under constant threat, this type of news doesn't really effect me anymore. They keep moving the threat level up and down too.
Does this mean we can expect to see another invasive surveillance act again sometime soon?
I sure as hell don't care. Hell I'm surprised we haven't even had a somewhat large terrorist attack yet. Also it doesn't help we're constantly told news like this. It just desensitizes people to it.
At the top of the article
Andrew Parker's speech comes just weeks before the Investigatory Powers Bill - or 'snooper's charter' - is to be published
And then he goes on to talk about threats coming from online. I hate to be the tinfoil hat guy but I can't help but think the threat is being exaggerated in order to push this bill.
besides the clear religious delusion ISIS aren't morons. They have to know continuously poking the UK and USA will do nothing except get them all killed.
They're gonna try flying a plane into the Big Ben?
I'm not saying it's a good thing, but I'm not sure how many people would actually be sad if the Houses of Parliament were destroyed with the government in them. And if they were, it would probably be about the buildings/ one or two MPs.
it's like the boy who cried wolf, but maybe they expect people to go back to extreme wartime paranoia because they know it bolsters their power and ~rallies patriots~
besides the clear religious delusion ISIS aren't morons. They have to know continuously poking the UK and USA will do nothing except get them all killed.
Most of them are not really worried about being killed since that makes them a martyr, once source I read says they go without body armor not because they don't have it but because they want to increase the chance of getting killed should they be hit. Getting rid of them is easier said than done what with there being members in practically every major country and that's just the ones we know about.

I hope they fail their attack on the 5th of November.

That's probably some disinformation thrown around, ISIS hasn't been very keen to extend their operations to other countries at the height of their might, and they've been on the defensive lately. Well, that's excluding some initiative from the inside of those countries themselves (see shootings in France), but those weren't "ISIS planning". They're not Al-Quaeda, ISIS has a clear goal in the Middle East. UK probably isn't all that interesting to them.

Yeah this is just the head of MI5 fear mongering, ISIS are at war with everyone around them and struggling, they won't be picking fights 1000s of miles away where it gains them nothing but heat. They aren't even touching Israel. He picks ISIS because they are the new hot topic right now.

They want the heat, they want a war with the west. Your delusional if you think ISIS wouldn't love to commit attacks on western homelands

Maybe they can soft Middlesbrough out while they are at it, that place is already been destroyed.

And I was talking about when it comes to ISIS but I guess I wasn't clear enough.

Your delusional if you think ISIS wouldn't love to commit attacks on western homelands
I am not sure assuming that ISIS consists of just barbarians who want to fight isn't delusional. These guys were defeating regular militaries left right and centre not too long ago, which means their leadership knows a thing or two. Hell, they manage to extract money from western countries by taking hostages and selling various historical artefacts (paying with human lives for historical relics, gg). The moment they directly attack western countries, that will stop. I think you hold this "They hate our way of life and want to take our DEMOCRACY and FREEDOMS away!" narrative a little too close to heart there. So far they haven't really shown that they give a shit about the West.
If isis survived for a few decades, I wonder if it eventually settled down and be saudi-esque
Well their end goal is installing the Caliphate, so probably... but that won't happen, they've danced on too many toes at this point. Too many countries will go out of their way to bury them.
