Looks really set up. There aren't any other players on the map and the pilot isn't even attempting to dodge it. Oh, and there aren't any hitmarkers or kill messages on the vehicle.
It's set up, but that doesn't really make it any less awesome.

Yep. It's obviously set up (the pilot even steers himself down so the car hits!), but it's still insane.
I like how the pilot has time to get his gun out when he lands just before he dies.

There's a slight difference... This is awesome because the chances for this happening in game are extremly slim, and it looks awesome. Yes, it's unrealistic that the car would fly that far. No, it's not unrealistic that a chopper, getting hit by a flying car, crashes.
It is how ever, unrealistic that a chopper, getting hit by a tomahawk, crashes. Even explodes. A tomahawk could probably make a chopper crash in some way, but not by throwing it on the side of it.
EDIT: Also... I've got both games, I take no sides, I just see that there's a big difference in these two "events".
What are the chances of that happening?
This may not be set up. Because if I was recording, and I happened to have this situation happen. I would try to get hit by the jeep.

Tomahawk hitting the back of a perfectly fine helicopter and exploding. What do you think?

I think both situations are impossible and nobody should care whether they are realistic or not because neither of these games were supposed to be simulators. But I guess that's not what you were asking.

Its actually very improbable especially considering the physics in this game are pretty solid. Being a frequent BF player I can say I've never seen a tank explode even ten feet in the air let alone to the height of a chopper.
However you are right in saying the notion of a tomahawk being capable of destroying a badly damaged helicopter in a game instantly makes that game a piece of shit. That sort of thinking is just dumb. Although it is an embarrassing oversight on the game maker's side, it has little relevance to the overall quality of the game.

The car probably had a bunch of explosives behind it. Vehicles tend to fly into the sky when explosions are big enough.
