These ads are in pretty poor taste to be honest. I think Samsung already had its fair share of Apple bashing a while back.

Pot calling the kettle black. They criticise Apple for these practices but they see it fit to use terrible Touchwiz and to lock down the phone more so than other androids.

Well to be fair this time around Apple just tried to catch up to Samsung/other Android phones. I know a lot of people who didn't want an iPhone solely because the screen was just too small.

Ever notice that the guys in the lead never bother comparing themselves to the competition, while the guys behind them do this kind of attack advertising? I'm not saying it's not effective, but it does seem like kind of a petty marketing strategy to willingly keep yourself in the shadow of something bigger instead of forging your own path. I know Apple was guilty of this for a while with their "Mac and PC" ads but that campaign didn't last very long, now their angle, like most leading companies in their respective fields, is marketing [i]for[/i] the end user, not [i]against[/i] the competition. Also it's kind of funny that years after those Mac and PC ads, in a time when Microsoft didn't give a shit because they were the top dogs, Microsoft is now doing passive attack ads against apple with their surface tablets and cortana cellphone things, because they're threatened at this point.

I both get them and don't get them. Like, I understand why you'd mock the annual REVOLUTIONARY TECHNOLOGY apple puts out, given they're late to the watch game (and it looks like they started it off poorly), and the big new feature is that the phone is bigger, with an option for one slightly smaller than the galaxy notes, after repeatedly saying they didn't want to pursue giant screens. At the same time, the ads are childishly blunt. There's nothing that bothers me more than moderately OK points being put forth by the worst presenters

you know what makes this really sad? they had to make this video in 2 days after the livestream. that means they sat in a room, just waiting to shit on apple as much as they could for the most petty things. like the livestream stuff, they couldn't have predicted that. they probably had this set, all these props, costumes, ready to go on production. then some video editing intern who they had on the draw had to slap it all together, color-correct it, and upload it + get it out to advertisers in less than a day. while i've gotta give them a hand for a great turnaround, this is just childish. it's like some desperate schoolyard kid who's trying to get everyone around him to see his point and bringing up every insignificant detail he can muster, to try and save some relevance. hell, if you want a visible sample, try Juror #10 from 12 Angry Men (i just watched it so that's why i bring such a strange point up.) just standing around, waiting for what they want to hear, one fuck up or negative tweet to write the entire script around. hell, they barely even focused on the livestream. the reason it fucked up was not because of lag, but because you could hear the chinese translator throughout. was the script written in a writers room or a boardroom? and wait, what does the fucking livestream have to do with their product? I don't give a shit if the information wasn't given to me on the spot, I just care if it's good and i'll make the jokes of the livestream later. it basically proves they were digging at the bottom of the barrel to reach some 4 video quota. that's the thing with all these samsung commercials. they go out of their way to make even the most insignificant details seem like they mean something. yes, people who use phones have to stand around a charger sometimes. yes, a watch for your phone is stupid as shit. but please, don't waste a crew of film makers, actors, and artists times to make a shitty bash video. you'd be better off making those reviews on youtube with some guy screaming at the camera about how much apple sucks, it'll feel just as childish.
