Covered ground and they aren't in direct competition with TV. Plus it's way easier to pin something on an interactive, visual medium where you can cherrypick the most violent parts of games than to show a few quotes.
That was a really interesting listen actually. Some times I manage to forget how shitty the media can be, and that a lot of journalists are morons just trying to make money.
I hate the media so much I completely agree with the guy at the start of the video "DO NOT MAKE THIS 24 HOUR COVERAGE"
Also I hate to be 'this' guy but there was school mass murder a few hours before the shooting happened in China and stabbed 22 children I saw it on the news for a whole 20 seconds and then it was days of this.
