• how do I find graphic designers?

I've made a photography iPhone app, but the interface totally blows. I want to feature it in my portfolio though, as an example of my programming skills -- but it won't impress anyone if it's ugly as hell. So how do I find a graphic designer who wants to fill out their portfolio too? I'm thinking about maybe tacking something onto the bulletin board @ college, but I don't think that'll get too many looks... suggestions?
Post a ad.
I could help you out or give you some links to some people I know off Dribbble, just PM me. You could alternatively use 99designs, it's a place for people to request a designer for anything. http://99designs.com/help/howitworks
Go to DeviantArt. I know that you aren't looking for someone to draw a mural for you but you could ask someone who looks like their artistic skills can suit your needs and see if they'll help you.
Finding free-lance designers using google is as easy as typing in any word and adding design behind it.
craigslist.org Make sure you're dealing with someone good and not some 13 year old though.

Try the Art's sub-forum. Plenty of friendly people to help you out in there. Might cost you a bit though.
I PMed you OP.

They have a UI section that I've been looking through, but most people posting there seem to be professionals. There are plenty of people I've seen on the internet who look like professionals who helped me out for free. Only one way to find out, just ask.
I have a few friends who have family members that are graphic design artists. PM me if you want their information. Note that they probably will charge.
Send Rusty a pm.
I can work for cheap
Go to starbucks, find someone with a MacBook Pro.
Hi x2cube. You can find graphic designers at vWorker (a list of the best are here: http://bit.ly/bN46Rc) however I wonder if collaborating with another iPhone developer would help. The reason I wonder is because vWorker hosts iPhone developers as well and you could probably find one skilled in both iPhone development and graphic design. I don't have experience with iPhone development, but I suspect working with someone who knows their way around the device would be a better designer than someone who specializes in graphic design exclusively. If my suspicion is correct, then I suggest you use vWorkers's search engine instead so you can query for workers skilled in both areas. craigslist and ask for a portfolio or something.
I've done a few things, I'm decent at designing, but artwork/drawing things from scratch isn't my thing. But if it's a basic task, then maybe I can help. But I'm still learning, so keep that in mind.

-snip- Due to jerks, being all jerkish...
Made my eyes bleed, Vinze. I'll send you a PM later, OP.
You should just state what you want done, post template or examples, and people will most likely give it a shot.
Made my eyes bleed, Vinze. I'll send you a PM later, OP.
Well, the person I made it for wanted it that way, I just followed instrunctions. NOBODY at Facepunch will EVER like someone else's work when it comes to these things. But hey, I don't care. I hope you can do a better job than me, I was just looking to help.

An interface is not that hard to make, and you'll get a very professional one done. You could always try working on your own art and practicing at that. It's a good skill to have.
Throw a photoshop software disc in the air and look to see who goes for it.
Instead of making a thread, i will ask. Does anyone knows a CS scripter? Need a new forum style and i got 0.1% experience with it. (No, not Counter Strike)
There are a million sites out there (getacoder.com, 99designs etc.) that have willing graphic designers on them. Personally, I think the market is completely saturated with graphic designers. But I will willingly do it for you :) Drop me a PM and we can discuss.
OP isn't replying to my emails
I looked through there and searched facepunch a bit before making this post, and I didn't see anybody doing UI design.
Everyone does UI design if you ask them right. We have plenty of talented artists in the arts section, that most of you clots don't know even exists.
Just a tip for everyone - Do not work for this guy. I worked for him before and he just blew the project off without giving any notification. I had designed a menu for him, and several 3D models optimized for an iPhone game and didn't receive a thing (was promised a share of profits), he simply disappeared. I'm not saying not to work with him, I'm just saying that I've had a bad experience with him, having put hours of work into something that ended up vanishing.
