Royal Holloway student hit with gun during burglary A student has been taken to hospital with a head injury after being hit with the butt of a gun during a burglary at a house in Surrey. 'Hurt confidence' "They cleaned the place out. They have taken a lot of our electrical equipment, stuff like that." He said police had advised the students to stay away from the house for a couple of days.
Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-21232473 Gun violence, UK style. But no, seriously that must be scary as fuck. Having an (apparently) armed intruder in your house in the middle of the night and all that.
Maybe he just forgot the bullets.
Awww, Poor sudent.
Maybe he just forgot the bullets.
No man, he was there to steal some bullets. In all seriousness though, to the comment about it being a 'nice' burglar, I'd imagine that the gun is there more for intimidation than for murder.
Awww, Poor sudent.
Ass, I am going to run away and hide now.
if only gun crimes were like this normally imagine if instead of tragic school shootings, it ends with everyone getting pistol whipped instead and it would be all over the news all day every day
Maybe he was just a relatively nice burglar and didn't want to kill him.
thank god burglars have such lofty morals
I haven't experienced a home burglary yet probably cos I'm fucking solid
thank god burglars have such lofty morals
I for one would like to see more robbers taking up public office.
thank god burglars have such lofty morals
Or knew if he actually shot someone, there would be armed police all over the place in minutes and he'd be likely to be shot. So yeah, just for intimidation really.
This is why large-capacity clips should be restricted. Just imagine the damage that could have been done if that man had had a more weighty clip with which to bludgeon this man!
Poor sudent. :,c
Maybe he was just a relatively nice burglar and didn't want to kill him.
How is choosing not to shoot him a relatively nice thing? The guy pistol whipped someone when the alternative was not pistol whip someone.
Maybe he was just a relatively nice burglar and didn't want to kill him.
But he had to hit him on the head with the butt of the gun?
Maybe he was just a relatively nice burglar and didn't want to kill him.
Most burglars don't intend, or want to kill anyone because they'll get caught.
Just curious, but what would have happened under UK law had the home owner shot and killed the guy?
Just curious, but what would have happened under UK law had the home owner shot and killed the guy?
Nothing depending on the circumstances. It is becoming more and more accepted that people should not be punished for defending their home, just a few months ago a case was thrown out where someone hit people with his gun while they were trying to break into his house in the middle of the countryside, and he shot at one of the others while they tried to run. Every time one of those cases appears it ignites a huge debate and the overwhelming opinion in the UK is that if someone is trying to rob you, they should be fair game.
I for one would like to see more robbers taking up public office.
Who says they're not?
Better ban all guns to prevent this from happening again.
Better ban all guns to prevent this from happening again.
Legal guns in England is a massive problem
Better ban all guns to prevent this from happening again.
But if we do that the aliens will come and overtake us all until we invent a stick
Similar situation?
No man, he was there to steal some bullets. In all seriousness though, to the comment about it being a 'nice' burglar, I'd imagine that the gun is there more for intimidation than for murder.
Yeah, apparently some guy robbed a bank with a note saying that he had a gun (but he didn't) and he got his money
Better ban all guns to prevent this from happening again.
It was most likely to be a imitation, blank firing or a toy. Like with a lot of 'firearm' crime in the UK. Not to mention ammo is nearly impossible to come across for criminals.
How do you know NoDachi? There's an okay chance that he just whipped him so if he got caught he wouldn't have murder tacked on
How do you know NoDachi? There's an okay chance that he just whipped him so if he got caught he wouldn't have murder tacked on
There is. I was more referring to UK gun crime in general.
Well shit, my mum just got bought a house like 5 minutes from the uni to rent out to uni kids next year and the security on the house isn't exactly the best. Wouldn't have thought this stuff happened round there
Yeah, apparently some guy robbed a bank with a note saying that he had a gun (but he didn't) and he got his money
That's a quote from pulp fiction?
Yeah, apparently some guy robbed a bank with a note saying that he had a gun (but he didn't) and he got his money
Most solo bank robberies are done with notes these days. Guy comes in with the note, the standard operating procedure for most banks is to give him a pack of notes with a dye packet embedded inside. He leaves quickly, dye packet explodes over him and the cash, cops pick him up. 60% or so of bank robbers are caught on the day that they rob it. The money can then be written off and reprinted, it's worthless with the dye, so the bank loses next to nothing.
