I saw the name Adam Sandler and that immediately makes me not want to even give this movie a small chance.
When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults.
please no Why does everything involving games that isn't games have to be some retro thing with bad references? Not to mention I think this was a futurama episode?? [editline]15th March 2015[/editline] Oh my god it's a disaster movie it's worse then I thought [editline]15th March 2015[/editline] Adam Sandler is in it This is asking to bomb, it's borderline offensive.
I saw the name Adam Sandler and that immediately makes me not want to even give this movie a small chance.
to be completely honest for how shitty adam sandler is he actually put a game to great use in one film he was in.
please no Why does everything involving games that isn't games have to be some retro thing with bad references? Can't fucking wait, pretty pumped for this.
What really pisses me off is that Reign Over Me was actually a pretty good movie, and Adam Sandler can do great serious and emotional roles, but he chooses to do shitty comedies.
I was an extra in the movie! I feel so proud of my accomplishments :D
That movie put me in fucking tears by the end. Very few films have ever done that to me. It is easily the best performance I have ever seen Adam Sandler give. Fucking brutal man.
What really pisses me off is that Reign Over Me was actually a pretty good movie, and Adam Sandler can do great serious and emotional roles, but he chooses to do shitty comedies.

written and directed by Mike Binder, and produced by his brother Jack Binder
^^ I don't see what point you're trying to make Killuah. I believe the words he used specifically were "serious and emotional roles". He's not saying that Sandler directed reign over me, just that he was good in it.
please no Why does everything involving games that isn't games have to be some retro thing with bad references? Not to mention I think this was a futurama episode??
It's because the people who write these films haven't played a game in 40 years and all they can remember is Super Mario, Pacman, and Space Invaders.
I was an extra in the movie! I feel so proud of my accomplishments :D
from the part you did, can it be hinted that it could be good?
This movie looks great but I have a very big hunch that Adam sandler will just turn it into a 2.5 hour advertisement.

Adam Sandler could make some really good movies if he tried or need to. However, his movies are done almost all paid for by sponsors, have a very low budget, and always have people buying them. As much as I don't care for Adam Sandlers movies, he is a genius for getting away with what he does.
Don't most recent Adam Sandler movies have absurdly high budgets with almost all of the money being funneled directly into Sandler and his friend's pockets?
I Think RLM did some kind of break down on Grown Ups 2 taking like 80 million Dollars then getting sponsors as well, and filming in open parks and small hotels. Basically there was no way it could cost 80 million regardless how you add it up
from the part you did, can it be hinted that it could be good?
Well the jokes were really forced and stale (usual Sandler jokes: sex, fart, and dick).. Might be good for some cheap laughs; but I wouldn't hold my breath.
waaaait he ripped that off of a futurama episode....
when you try to hard to be ~nostalgic~ and make ~popular references~ you don't actually impress anyone, you just sound like a fucking idiot. I'm so sick of people who try too hard to make "sweet pop culture references", so I get the feeling this movie is nothing but this. It's great when there is actually a point to it but Adam Sandler is making this. His idea of a reference is the worst.
second "tales of interest" episode where fry asks what if life was like a videogame they litterally have ambassador kong rip up new new york at least it looks like it has good visuals, assuming they didn't spend it all on the trailer render
It's based on this I'm guessing, not that Futurama episode?
It's because the people who write these films haven't played a game in 40 years and all they can remember is Super Mario, Pacman, and Space Invaders.
more that the most memorable characters are the oldest ones, for every demographic they're attempting to target (most) kids know pac-man, since teens know pac-man, since adults know pac-man, since middle-agers know pac-man substitute for mario, sonic, megaman, space invaders, etc. meanwhile, take someone more recent, like a Fire Emblem: Awakening character, and you'll maaaaaaybe get 1 of those four demographics to recognize them it's just marketing. same reason Wreck-it Ralph decided to use an arcade for a setting, despite it being an archaic environment

What these people don't seem to realize is you can make a videogame movie without referencing dumb shit or saying stupid shit the entire time. I'd like to remind you it seems to be only videogames it does this with, unless somebody has another example.
I wanna see a game in which all in-universe movies are just really old movies like you walk past a movie theater and it's showing Casablanca and The Great Dictator even though it's modern day
I think Deadly Premonition kind of does that. The MC just talks about old movies and actors while driving around.

Guys, it's directed by Christopher Columbus. He did Home Alone. I think it might be at least decent. Tell you what. I actually have the script for the movie that I managed to find on my journeys through the internet. I'm gonna give it a read.
Guys, it's directed by Christopher Columbus.
Well this movie might open up a new world of video game movies
