What really pisses me off is that Reign Over Me was actually a pretty good movie, and Adam Sandler can do great serious and emotional roles, but he chooses to do shitty comedies.

That movie put me in fucking tears by the end. Very few films have ever done that to me.

The point is that the movies are shit when Sandler has any kind of control over them.
Adam Sandler could make some really good movies if he tried or need to. However, his movies are done almost all paid for by sponsors, have a very low budget, and always have people buying them. As much as I don't care for Adam Sandlers movies, he is a genius for getting away with what he does.

I Think RLM did some kind of break down on Grown Ups 2 taking like 80 million Dollars then getting sponsors as well, and filming in open parks and small hotels.
Basically there was no way it could cost 80 million regardless how you add it up

more that the most memorable characters are the oldest ones, for every demographic they're attempting to target
(most) kids know pac-man, since teens know pac-man, since adults know pac-man, since middle-agers know pac-man
substitute for mario, sonic, megaman, space invaders, etc.
meanwhile, take someone more recent, like a Fire Emblem: Awakening character, and you'll maaaaaaybe get 1 of those four demographics to recognize them

At least wreck-it-ralph didn't try to force the references down your throat, at the start they were a bit forceful, but at least from there on they were at least subtle about it. What these people don't seem to realize is you can make a videogame movie without referencing dumb shit or saying stupid shit the entire time. I'd like to remind you it seems to be only videogames it does this with, unless somebody has another example.

I think Deadly Premonition kind of does that. The MC just talks about old movies and actors while driving around.
