Yeahhhh, Back to the Future, one of the most awesome films ever, and guess what? It has 3 feature-long parts! Yes, definitely one of the best movie series of all time. And to those of you who don't know about it, the story is about a teenage guy named Marty McFly who's friends with a scientist named Doctor Emmet Brown. Doc. Brown invents a time machine which sends Marty back from 1985 to 1955, Marty then accidentally stops his parents from meeting in their teens, and causes his mother to fall in love with him.
With Doc's help (the one from the past) Marty tries to get his parents together and fix his time machine so he can go back to the future.
In part 2, Marty and his girlfriend, or wife in the future, travel with Doc to the year 2015 and fix it, however the plot twists as Marty's nemesis, Biff, takes a sports magazine to the 50's and makes his past self filthy rich! Marty and the Doc go back to the 50's again to try and fix the present.
In part 3, the Doc got sent back in time to 1895, the wild west. Marty travels back in time to try and get the Doc back to the present, and they face various setbacks during the movie.
Besides the main plot there are lots of sub-plots like the relations between the characters at each point in the timeline (and alternate timelines), how everything is so similar to it's 30 years in the past or future counterpart, for example Biff is a bully in his teens, as he is in his adult life, and is still a bully when he's old!
Now for the characters:
Our hero, Marty McFly:

This is one of the coolest guys ever, I mean who can hitch up their PARENTS? Not even Chuck Norris can! This guy has been anywhere and seen everything, the future, the 50's the freaking wild west! Marty also is never afraid of everything, call him a chicken, and he'll show you who's boss!
Doctor Emmet Brown:

Now that's a SCIENTIST! Just look at that hair, even Einstein would be envious. This guy's funny too, the way he moves and talks, its BRILLIANT I say!
Biff:

He's the bully, of course, just bullying around. Manure is attracted to him, and like Marty, you shouldn't call him a chicken or the next bullying is going to be on your ass.
The movies as a whole are great to watch, the first time I watched them was an all-nighter marathon with my friends. I just love the whole plot and how it plays out. For example in the first part when introducing the time machine to Marty, Doc mentions he'd like to go back to his favorite time, the wild west, and this happens in the 3rd movie, what a coincidence!
So Facepunch, what did you like best about the movies, how did you enjoy them, who are your favorite characters? Discuss!
"Great Scott!"
One of best movies I have ever seen.
I didn't like part 3 as much as the other 2. I'm not sure why, but It's still one of my favorite series of all time.

Agreed. Although Part Three is not as good as Parts One and Two, Back to the Future isn't complete without it. Back to the Future is probably one of my top ten favorite franchises of all time.
Part 3 was my fav ever since I was 5.
The Train scene was always my favorite part.
Last week I was at the mall with my girlfriend, she stared to zone out. So I thought it would be funny to go knock on her head and say "HAY MCFLY, ANYBODY IN THERE!" she looked at me and was like "what was that?" i just shook my head....
Jesus Christ how can somebody not know of Back to the god damn Future?!

Nothing more.
I always wanted there to be a 4th movie.
Well, not really gonna happen now that Fox is so much older (and has parkinsons.)
I agree BmB, but I read some where that it was in production for a period of time, but then BOOM, parkinsons.

Doc Brown: Tell me, Future Boy, who's President of the United States in 1985?
Marty: Ronald Reagan.
Doc Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor? Then who's vice-president, Jerry Lewis?
I feel like watching these again now..
Ah they're amazing, definitely my favourite set of movies. Star Wars/LOTR/whatever can go suck a dick.

Wow, I just finished watching it again like 2 hours ago.
The second one is my favourite.
I adore BTTF with a passion. BTTF and Jurassic Park have been the biggest staples in my life. My favorite media of the franchise was the ride. Too bad a medocre comedy series replaced its awesomeness.
Ive always favored the second one.
