• Civil war an overrated war?

Whenever I talk to an enthusiast they always perk up and babble on how most people overlook the civil war and that many great strategies and moralities were born on those fields. But I call bullshit, if the north didn't declare war the south would've followed suit with the rest of the world and let slavery end. Instead of letting slavery end peacefully, war was declared and both the north and south are still facing repercussions to this day. Because of the civil war immigration and production of non weapons became completely stagnant. The Civil war is just as unnecessary as any war the United States would declare today. "What if the south kept slavery going?" . Morality is something that takes years and patience to grow, eventually people would be penalized spiritually as well as mentality. Slavery has always been wrong, but committing mass murder to end something faster is a much bigger crime. "Its much harder to admit wrongs than stepping on broken bones" - Confucius Those dumb ratings came from Americans, thats biased and should not be taken into the situation.
if you hate the civil war than why is your picture of the civil war magic treehouse book
You clearly didn't take American History to understand that we did not even go to war on the issue on slavery in the first place.
First of all, America's slaves were immediately set free. Secondly, the cotton farmers of New England were required to pay a twelve percent duty on all exported cotton balls, swabs, and dungarees. For these minor changes, 902 million Americans gave their lives and countless others were left maimed; many with serious rope burns, others with severed thumbs, swamp rot, turf toe, or a variety of other ailments related to the consumption of Johnny Cake. The price tag for these small social changes was enormous. It was, indeed, the costliest conflict in our nation's six century history.
if you hate the civil war than why is your picture of the civil war magic treehouse book
dude that was like the coolest series ever
The South will rise again! :bahgawd:
why is your picture of the civil war magic treehouse book
Because its just as real and dramatic as any civil war document. The Civil War to me is a glorified piece of fiction.
dude that was like the coolest series ever
true dat but come on the pompeii one was the best
The Civil War to me is a glorified piece of fiction.
Hey dumbass. It actually happened.
Slavery was the backbone of the south, they weren't going to let it end. Plus the Civil War wasn't about slavery, it was about state rights. The Civil War also marked the dawn of the modern battlefield.
Either way, civil war was a hella cool war
true dat but come on the pompeii one was the best
most deff
Also the South wouldn't have let go of slavery are you joking It was the crutch of their economy
Also the South wouldn't have let go of slavery are you joking It was the crutch of their economy
i highly doubt the south would have kept slavery going far into the 20th century

"Its much harder to admit wrongs than stepping on broken bones" - Confucius
The civil war was primarily about the South succeeding and fighting for sovereignty. It wasn't a war about slavery, contrary to popular belief. The north (It was either in the beginning or the end, I gotta freshen up on US History) let slaves in the South be slaves in the north, and they could only earn their freedom by joining the army.
Also the South wouldn't have let go of slavery are you joking It was the crutch of their economy
yea this guys argument is that they would slowly let go of it. No way, it would grow stronger as they would import more and more slaves, money over morals in this case
true dat but come on the pompeii one was the best
He was a dumbass I'm sorry. Anyone who wants to keep the Roman Republic is stark retarded.
yea this guys argument is that they would slowly let go of it. No way, it would grow stronger as they would import more and more slaves, money over morals in this case
advances in technology soon made human labor unnecessary and inefficient anyway
yea this guys argument is that they would slowly let go of it. No way, it would grow stronger as they would import more and more slaves, money over morals in this case
By the time the civil war began importing new slaves was illegal.
yea this guys argument is that they would slowly let go of it.
Because state's right's had nothing to do with it. :downs:
State rights are still flawed due to the federal governments involvement and over-reaching of everything in this damn country. I frankly don't care about bike paths and tree plantings, the state doesn't control that much in the whole picture. Not to mention that racism would be a lot worse today if slavery was left alone back then [editline]11:49PM[/editline] 100% sure that OP learned American history in the South from some biased teacher clinging to "the glory days"
State rights are still flawed due to the federal governments involvement and over-reaching of everything in this damn country.
I need a citation on this. The National Government has been checked numerous times, and it is still a good thing that the State Governments are still subordinate to the National one.

The South wanted to be a Confederacy while the North wanted to stay a Republic. Do you think that all the crooked and downright corrupted operations and maneuvers done by the federal government have been uncovered? You're just as blind as a fresh dog fetus.
