Nero YouTubes while Rome burns! The White House, probably realizing the entire country is mega-financially-screwed anyway, just rickolled a Twitter critic who complained about the "entertainment value" of an Obama briefing. Retaliation? Watch this annoying video, you jerk!
Aren't they clever
Where's that picture of Obama on the skateboard when you need it..
That's pretty much how I envisioned this playing out.
That's, actually pretty awesome. Its an old overused joke but that's a perfect response.

I can imagine Jay Carney laughing his ass of doing this.
I'm proud to be an american. I love this administration.

Good to see the US government is focusing on the economy

I doubt one twitter post means they aren't
Genius.
Good to see the US government is focusing on the economy
It's not like the whole US government holds meetings to review twitter and decide what to say in a response.

I don't know what to say to your post.
They're distracting people while serious issues occur.
this is stupid and offensive
how about they use the twitter account to address real issues rather than pretending that everything is peachy

Because it works.

They responded to a random guy who was bawwwwing on twitter. Who responds to those people seriously? This guy was no different than the "hats ruined tf2 ahff~!~!!" whiners on SPUF.
That made me laugh.
Could only be better with a true rickroll.

twitter is a serious place where serious people go to be taken seriously
Now I like Obama, what a way to say whatever to a crying idiot.

He wasn't bawwing. Obama was talking about his great plan for the budget the other night, and the user asked the White House to show it to the people so they could see the plan.
Why doesn't WH release the great plan to CBO for public opinion? Wish they would answer the question.
Yes because twitter is a serious news outlet. Get real, one staffer decided this would be funny. It's not like the president himself sat at his desk for an hour trying to figure out how to respond to this.

Yeah except that's not the tweet they were responding to.
This WH correspondence briefing isn't nearly as entertaining as yesterday's. #TCOT #WHchat
I really don't think the White House wants to make whatever intern is in charge of updating their twitter into a public policy mouthpiece.
ugh how unprofessional this is twitter for god sakes everybody can see it!!! america is doomed!!
This reminds me of the time everyone got outraged because Obama was drinking a beer.

When was that? Or do you mean the time that he drank a beer with a professor and the cop he called stupid a short time before for arresting the former?
Looks like the government just discovered internet memes.
Dear god..
Would have been funnier if he linked the Obama Rick Roll video.
