12 percent of people read the ToS?!
Maybe if the ToS were shortened to something less than EIGHTY FUCKING PAGES, people might read them.
No one reads the giant wall of text that is terms and conditions?! If they want people to read that stuff they need to make TL:DR version, no one is going to read through all that legal BS just to buy a game.
Maybe if you simplify it instead of using words nobody understands, some people WOULD read it!

It's like having to watch a 40 minute instructional video before reading a book

I have a family friend who does the ToS, and he says that sometimes they slip little tidbits of info in for fun, like the iTunes ToS which says you can't use it to manufacture nuclear or chemical weapons.
This comes as no surprise. Who can be bothered reading those long terms and conditions anyway? I know we should, but this probably won't get the message through.

Thats not for fun, thats because if they don't, if someone finds out how to do it, they (apple) are responsible (according to american law).

Which means that there must be a way to use iTunes to make weapons :3:

No, it's for fun. In the iTunes example, they didn't need to go into "and/or including design and manufacture of nuclear weapons".
This has made me love Gamestation even more. :v:
Biggest lie in the world! "I have read and accept the ToS"
They should do it like CC.

Ah well, I do know for a fact that my insurance does not cover any injury or loss by nuclear or chemical warfare :v:
I noticed that and got a voucher! I asked the guy at the till what it meant by the 'soul clause', and he just put a finger to his lips, gave me a voucher and pointed towards the door.
I left perplexed to say the least.
I was wondering if anyone tried experimenting with this. I was thinking more along the lines of putting "We own your house and everything in it" somewhere in the ToS.
Souls are dime a dozen these days anyways.
:wtc:
I got bored and actually read a ToS once. It's just full of obvious stuff.
Well the terms of service is just there to cover the businesses ass, so theres usually not a lot about the client that would be worth reading. Unless people like GameStation do stupid stuff like this, but its still pretty funny non the less
I remember when a pizza company bought someone's soul.

I can't say I know ANYONE that reads those. I remember AOL or something did this awhile back.
wow gamestation is a hell of a lot cheaper than aus i dont care if they own my soul
I don't have a soul.
thats genius.
Well done Gamestop

That wasn't slipped in for fun, its in the EULA for all Apple software, it is genuinely to forbid people from using their software for military purposes.
