QUEBEC CITY — Quebec police are investigating witness claims that Quebec City police pinned a cyclist to the ground and continued with their arrest, even as blood poured from his mouth after their cruiser ran him over.
Guy Blouin, 48, died Wednesday in the hardscrabble Saint-Roch district of the provincial capital.
Witnesses say a cruiser that attempted to pull over Blouin, going the wrong way down a one-way street just after 1 p.m., instead ran him over.
"He went under the wheels," said Bibi, who would only give her first name. She said the cruiser then shifted into drive and ran Blouin over a second time.
Witness Sylvie Dion described a "rough arrest" in which officers pinned Blouin to the ground by both of his arms.
Bibi added: "I saw the blood coming out of his mouth, he shouted 'I'm hurt.'"
The witnesses also said officers walked the man to an ambulance as he was doubled over in pain.
Blouin died a few hours later.
Guess he didn't respect the "authoritah".
Jesus christ. What a terrible way to die.
What the fuck? Either the witnesses made a MAJOR mistake or the cop has some MAJOR issues.
That sounds like he did it intentionally; you notice going over the smallest bumps, surely he must have known that by putting it back in drive he'd go over the guy again.
Was it "self defence"
What a fucking awful way to die, and awful behaviour from the police (Assuming it's true)
dash cam should clear this up.
Strip the pig.... of his SKIN

I don't think I will ever be able to understand the mindset that creates comments like this in a non-ironic sense.

I bet it has something to do with a figure of authority supposedly running over an innocent cyclist.
Twice.

Me too.
But if someone were to say:
"They should hang Putin" for example, that'd be fine?
(depending on your view of the whole situation there, of course)
Because then it's just a matter of having lower standards of wanting somebody dead.

Not to say that's a GOOD thing, right.
Good. I'm tired of criminals getting off easy.

I hear that the worst of the US police is not much different than what we got here.
why do people say biking
its cycling
why do people say biking

It somehow depends on the country you're in, it's maybe not the same on the US than on the UK, I guess?
Since he was helped to an ambulance I'm not sure if it can be called murder but this has got to be more than manslaughter.
Thank god they stopped him from going the wrong direction on a bicycle. He could have gotten run over or something.
I normally side with the police but this is just heinous
officer should lose his job and pension and be tried for manslaughter
Ouch, painful way to go. Our cops are all on protest right now in Quebec because of the pension reform. This guy definitely got unlucky, I've had multiple experiences of cops just looking the other way when laws are being broken now

Maybe they're switching up their protesting tactics?
It's obviously called pedaling
you mean two-wheel jollying.
Seriously, what the fuck, I get physically sick just trying to run this situation through my head.
So they chased him because he was biking down a 1 way street the wrong way?
That's like chasing after a pedestrian for walking down a 1 way street the wrong way, you don't do it.

Know what else you don't do?
Run your car twice over somebody who was literally just minding their own business. The cops involved should be stripped of their badges and tried as civilians for what they did, you can bet an average joe who did this would get absolutely slammed and there's absolutely no reason these cops should be treated any differently.
And yet despite an increasing number of things like this, we're still supposed to trust and feel safe around police. What a world we live in.
This is like running over a pedestrian for jaywalking.
Welcome to Quebec.
Please return to the highway and go somewhere else.
More brutality

Lol, just read facebook comments sometime and you'll see comments like these. On an article about the kids that pranked the kid with autism with the ice bucket challenge, someone said "Hang em" unironically.
