Youtube isn't letting monetize a video unless I provide information on what software I used to make the video.. anyone else having this issue? It makes sense. Unless you're a dipshit who's using pirated material for monetary gain, which is the dumbest thing you could ever do.

They could make it that unless your using the latest version of a software to make your videos, you won't be able to monetize it. The point is that you shouldn't have to do this bullshit for each and every video you make using an editing software, it could be open source and they would still do this.

If you bought it legally, regardless of if it's new or old, it's yours to do with as you please. If it's free, all you have to do is let them know. Is it that fucking hard to enter a little information?
YouTube just loves to step in the way of progress in practically everything on their website.

If you did then you would know why this is a problem, it will become annoying very fast
Its an invasion of privacy.
Not at all, lol.
YouTube just loves to step in the way of progress in practically everything on their website.
And now look what theyve done now, as if the forced google plus accounts wasn't bad enough. [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline]
Not at all, lol.
It seems like everyone here is completely out of touch with what content creators want, contrast to the reaction I got from Newgrounds http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1353481#bbspost24860551 Unlike Facepunch they actually care about when shit like this is done to us content creators.
This wouldn't be an issue if all content creating programs weren't so fucking expensive I know and agree with the sentiment that monetizing off programs you don't own is wrong, however the prices are fucking nuts on those so how is anyone supposed to acquire them in the first place?
And now look what theyve done now, as if the forced google plus accounts wasn't bad enough.
I can already see the shitstorm that's going to come from this, it's going to be priceless. This will be an issue for the starting channels, the channels that already have a steady income of YouTube$ can just buy a licence easily.

You deserve a medal good sir. It also begs the question where will youtube stop and when will people on their speak up against google?
I could be wrong, but this seems more like it belongs in fast threads.
I could be wrong, but this seems more like it belongs in fast threads.
I put this here so any content creators would be informed about this crap.
Uh, They're doing it because you're "monetizing" the video. They're trying to verify that you own and or created the content that you're monetizing (making money off of), because you're trying to get them to pay you for it. This isn't an invasion of privacy, this is their service, If you want them to pay you money, for content you created, then you should be prepared to verify that you did.
I put this here so any content creators would be informed about this crap.
What a visionary you must be.
What a visionary you must be.
I read your other comments, how can you be this dumb. It's obviously a problem especially if you have something old and no longer have any proof that it is your's, for fucks sake the majority of animators still use Flash CS3 because it is the best version of flash, what happens when they can no longer monetize their animations? They don't put it on youtube. LOL Youtube is gonna be come trailertube now, everyone is going to start doing trailers that link to their stuff on another website. i hope this kills youtube, site went to shit anyway.

I love the capitals. It's such an indicator of stubborn belief in self-importance of opinion. Any person with half a brain knows that when you make a big purchase, you keep a receipt like a sane fucking individual. Hell, dig it out of an old email. If you've got something bought that's in that level of costs, why WOULDN'T you dearly hold on to some proof that you legally owned it? I haven't seen much as far as "trailers linking to other websites" as I have seen "trailers linking to different youtube accounts", so if you'd like to peacefully inform me on that, I'd be grateful. If you can't afford a professional editing/animation device, I'd suggest buying some sandpaper to smooth out those edges of yours, might help with the whole "whiny bitch" situation you got there. Sure, it sucks that shit costs money. But that's life.
You don't understand it because you never bought it. Professional editing software states that purchasing the software includes purchasing a license and the right to monetize using their software. Youtube doesn't want to promote piracy or pay people for using something illegally.
how come it never asks me for this, i got most of my videos monetized

Video editing programs really aren't that expensive as people think. Most people likes to edit their videos, add some text to it, but usually not add a huge amount of effects. People are only looking at the professional versions of for example Sony Vegas (I believe that most people like to pirate this). Sony Vegas is a professional movie editing program. It's really not supposed to be used by people who only upload cheaply edited videos to YouTube. You don't have to go far to find more limited versions of software that are tremendously cheaper and still does what you need it to do. You don't even have to go far to find Sony Movie Studio, which only costs around 30-40 dollars (Vegas Pro is priced at around $300-500). I think this is a good thing. People shouldn't really be messing around with pirated professional software to only use it for cheap editing. On the other hand, if people start buying more video editing software then it might become cheaper in the long run.

I don't think Vegas is worth $500, but it's certainly worth more than anything you can get for free I don't really agree with youtube being a middle man to meddle, though. It's your content on your machine that you want to put elsewhere. It isn't child porn or drugs
Did the OP create this thread solely so that we would apologize to him and stroke his dick about how bad youtube is? Just stop whining and use a free program like jahshaka until your mom gives you enough money for vegas.

Because this just looks like it's asking about the actual content of the video, not what was used to make it.
