#title_hardware_software_survey: July 2010 for anyone else?
They're linking a bit like RPS, fuck. It's not that i don't like it, but sometimes it's easy to miss :saddowns:
29% of the users pirated their games. :D
Did they really have to include steam in the software list? :v: [editline]09:36PM[/editline]
29% of the users pirated their games. :D
torrent != piracy
I'm surprised that Silverlight has that many users. No one really uses it for anything.
Did they really have to include steam in the software list? :v: [editline]09:36PM[/editline] torrent != piracy
usually it is, how many people do you think are honestly using torrents exclusively for linux distros?
I'm surprised that Silverlight has that many users. No one really uses it for anything.
Because fucking Microsoft hides it in Windows Update
29% of the users pirated their games. :D
That facepunch has a anti-piracy policy since garry's his game is on steam. Doesn't mean you have to bring it up every time you see the word torrent.
Because fucking Microsoft hides it in Windows Update
It's actually an optional update, that you have to install manually. [editline]09:46PM[/editline]
usually it is, how many people do you think are honestly using torrents exclusively for linux distros?
I'm just saying, it's not all 100% piracy. [editline]09:46PM[/editline] For example, there's www.gameupdates.org
It seems notepad++ wasn't on the list

Whoa, apparently 100% of Steam users have Steam installed! Very interesting statistic.
Firefox beat IE? I'm stunned and impressed.
Steam 100.00%
Holy shit.
Am i the only one who was suspicious as hell when that survey popped up?
Firefox beat IE? I'm stunned and impressed.
Gamers don't use that shit.
:O We can see how many mac users torrent
Well, you can't really get rid of IE otherwise shit hits the fan. Technically it should be 100%.
Well, you can't really get rid of IE otherwise shit hits the fan. Technically it should be 100%.
The program had to have been running during the survey, I think.
Am i the only one who was suspicious as hell when that survey popped up?
I was suspicious when it was announced. Why are they looking at software anyway? How is our software even relevant to what Valve is doing? Or is Valve trying to follow Google?
I was suspicious when it was announced. Why are they looking at software anyway? How is our software even relevant to what Valve is doing? Or is Valve trying to follow Google?
You can decline the survey.
I was suspicious when it was announced. Why are they looking at software anyway? How is our software even relevant to what Valve is doing? Or is Valve trying to follow Google?
Or maybe they are just curious? Or maybe this is of interest to many people so that they can make other stuff even better for you? People are just way too paranoid, it's not like Valve knowing what programs you have are gonna kill you, send you to prison or do anything other serious shit.
I was suspicious when it was announced. Why are they looking at software anyway? How is our software even relevant to what Valve is doing? Or is Valve trying to follow Google?
They've mentioned that they're trying to make steam an all purpose type thing, and seeing what type of software is really common on machines, they can think of features to add to steam in the future. Plus, it never hurts to have more information.
I was suspicious when it was announced. Why are they looking at software anyway? How is our software even relevant to what Valve is doing? They want to know what the average computer can handle, that way they can make their games accordingly. Without that information, well, they can't cater to your desires.
fuck yeah 63% use Firefox
Wow, CCleaner at 22.70%. Awesome percentage for an awesome cleaner.
Wow, CCleaner at 22.70%. Awesome percentage for an awesome cleaner.
22,70% share his/her computer with other people.
I took the survey but had no idea they checked my software. I would not like to participate in further surveys. that kind of creeps me out now.
